So now we look forward to 2018, Ryan nelsen for coach. Get rid of van hattum also

Ryan Nelsen, whose team has won 5 of 32 games? Who doesn't even have the coaching qualifications to be an assistant coach in the HAL.

And Herbert who coaches a team that can only score against a pacific island nation with 25 thousand people and whos teambiggestachivement this year is getting  a 0-0 draw against a side ranked 84th?

Let's blame Panamas loss on Herbert and Nelsen.

Seems legit...

Why is 2014 a write off? Based on what we've seen from Mexico, they are beatable. It's not going to be easy but if there has ever been a time in their long footballing history, this is the time to beat Mexico. This is the worst they have probably ever been in a long long time. Now Chicharito is suspended for the first leg as well? We have a chance. Not a big chance but as big a chance as we will ever get against a team like Mexico. Keep the faith.

Today we had a 0-0 draw with T & T, 2014 is a write off,  we can only score goals against pacific island nations. Herbert

and Van Hattum need to go, NOW.

It's 2 games of football. Anything can happen. Sneak a draw or 1-0 loss away from home and it's game on. If we do well in the away leg it is 90 minutes of football. Imagine these circustances; 5 degrees, gale force winds, torrential rain at Westpac for the home playoff. In those conditions we would probably be the favourites.

Not sure why everyone is so gutted. Up until the start of the day we were resigned to having to play Mexico.

Nothing has changed.

If you are old and wise you were probably young and stupid

You cannot be serious.

Three for me, and two for them.

Which in the middle of November, is not as likely as the middle of June........ The conditions you predict are about as likely as a draw or 1 goal loss at Azteca...

Looking purely at results, last 2 years Herbet's record for the AWs is 18 played, 11 wins, 4 draws and 3 losses. 1 loss against New Caledonia the only real aberration

Right now to make those stats more meaningful, how many of those 18 games have not been against OFC teams?

I was in the states in feb-march this year and saw some concaf games, we wont hold them, that wont work, they are way

way too quick, we just need to go forward and say, hey we might concenced four goals, but if we can knick a couple ourselves,

then we have an outside chance. But since we cant score against T & T and didnt get a couple against the might of Venture

county fusion or Chivas, we are toast, thats it, put your house on mexico.

Against non-ofc teams, played 7, 2 wins, 3 draws, 2 losses. And only 1 of those games was played in NZ, which was a loss against Jamaica - so away from NZ it is played 6, 2 wins, 3 draws, 1 loss.

Brazil 5 - Honduras 0

25 Mar 05:11 · edited 25 Mar 05:13 · History

USA beat Honduras 6 nil and Trinidad beat Panama 1-0

25 Mar 07:37 · edited 25 Mar 07:37 · History

Is a reasonable chance Socceroos will be 5th team from Asia and have to go into CONCACAF playoff games

Socceroos currently 3rd in their group. Only top two from each of 2 Asian groups automatically qualify

12 Jun 00:26

USA setting up in a 3-4-3

12 Jun 00:38 · edited 12 Jun 00:45 · History

Michael Bradley chips the keeper from distance, USA take the lead in the 5th minute

12 Jun 00:57

Mexico equalise! USA had only lead for 21 minutes in the Azteca in history combined going into this game, they lead for 17 minutes

12 Jun 02:24

Ends 1-1. Hard fought point for the USA

01 Sep 23:34

Costa Rica winning 0-1 against the USA right now.

02 Sep 00:50

USA 0 - Costa Rica 2

Honduras ahead 0-2 against T&T, setting up a massive 2nd game of this window vs the USA. Both will be level on points in the 3rd place spot

02 Sep 03:38

02 Sep 08:18

Also Panama are at home to T&T. The Yanks could be out of the top 4 by the end of the next matchday.

05 Sep 23:16

I love that US are stinking up the joint

05 Sep 23:18

Currently 0-1 down against Honduras in a massive game

05 Sep 23:22

Now 1-1.

05 Sep 23:33

Finishes 1-1. Still if Panama beat lowly Trinidad later today, USA will lie 4th

Dream Australia v US playoff possibility is still alive.

06 Sep 02:59

HT Mexico 1 Costa Rica 0  (1st & 2nd of the table)

HT Panama 1 Trinidad & Tobago 0   - stays that way Panama will jump to 3rd above both USA & Honduras

06 Sep 04:03

FT Mexico 1 Costa Rica 1 (Mexico qualified, CR virtually now qualified)

FT Panama 3 Trinidad & Tobago 0 - Panama jumps to 3rd above both USA & Honduras.

Next round the States play Panama at home (big game) & Trinidad away.

07 Oct 01:18

USA 4-0 up over Panama & should be safely into the WC now

07 Oct 07:11

They need to get something  out of their last game away to bottom team Trinidad & Tobago to guarantee automatic qualification.

Failing that both Panama (2 pts behind) and Honduras (3 pts behind with game in hand - play Costa Rica tomorrow) could overtake them, and slip into 3rd - and automatically off to Russia.

I'm sure Socceroos keeping a watchful eye on events.

11 Oct 00:53
