Still no closer to knowing who we will face, Argies drop to 6th now tho.

At 88 mins Colombia were 1-0 at home, yet somehow lost 1-2 to Paraguay. They won't be happy in Bogota. Yes SA qualification is brutal

Ospina fudgeed up on both Paraguay goals.

Will be a few disappointed Feverites if that is the case, not exactly a great away trip.

I want Argentina. I don't think we can get past any of them, so seeing Argentina play NZ in NZ is a once in a lifetime event I want to experience.

Watching them play football. They are a huge step above us in terms of footballing ability.

Their last loss was almost a year ago (to Brazil). in the last 18 months in competitive fixtures they have beaten Brazil and Uruguay, and drawn with Colombia and Argentina (twice).

Well Chile beating Brazil is the hardest aspect of the scenario Cam tweeted, Brazil would love to see the Argies suffer so might not play that well. So I think it will be the Argies coming to Welly

But on face of it they are not as intimidating as any of the other SA sides in the reckoning (maybe bar Paraguay). I think from memory reading another post their top scorer plays in the Danish top flight with Aaborg (same club as Tamati Williams). The star players with Chile, Colombia & Argentina all play at massive clubs - and so naturally that will be intimidating for some of the AWs players.

Peru team will also be under massive pressure - having not qualified for World Cup since 1982. Plenty of teams that were otherwise favourites have been known to choke, when there is huge off field pressure to win.

Still Mexico dealt with AWs easily in 2013 without any 'star' overseas players - so obviously even Peru or Paraguay would be warmest of favourites against us.

Colombia would be a great away trip, only down side is the cost of getting there (esp compared to Argentina or Chile)

Chile beat an under strength and non-committed Brazil 2-1

Colombia score late to draw 1-1 with Peru

Ecuador feel an Argentina backlash 0-5

Uruguay don't get out of second gear to win 2-0 over Bolivia

Paraguay win 2-1 but too little to late

NZ v Chile lads

All certainly feasible apart from a 5-0 Argie win at altitude in Quito. Argentinians are pretty much despised/hated by other South Americans in general. Ecuador at home will be pumped to knock them out if they can.

It'll be Argentina

Brazil will beat Chile

Eciuador and Argentina will draw (0-0) probably

Paraguay will beat Venezuela

Peru will beat Colombia

Uruguay will beat Bolivia

so Table finishes

1 Brazil 41pts

2 Uruguay 31pts

3 Peru 28pts

4 Paraguay 27pts

then Argentina, Chile & Colombia on 26 pts, Argentina have a +1 goal difference, Chile & Colombia both have +2 at the moment but this will go down, so I'm saying they will both lose by 2 and Argentina will finish 5th - simples

(I did of course only get 3 points at the weekends YFTipping!)

I'm with you on all that except.. Argentina will be 0-0 until the 98th minute when they're somehow awarded a penalty against a defender who looked at the ref in an abusive manner. Messi converts at the 4th attempt due to consistent encroaching or keeper moving & FIFA are delighted the "best player in the world" gets a chance at glory in their tournament.  (therefore Paraguay 5th)

I don't think FIFA will be too worried about Messi not making the WC if their playoff is against us
