The new deal means that next year Durante could become available to play for New Zealand as he has never represented his native Australia. Is it something he would consider?

I think he's a proud Aussie- unless he's really serious about becoming a kiwi I think we should give up on it.

i think there is a reasonable chance he'll get called into socceroos for qualifiers some time in next 12 months (given his form and their relative weakness at CB), but if he doesnt betweeen now and becoming AW eligible, youd have to figure hed think v seriously about accepting an AW call cup. he has lived in the country for nearly five years, made it his home, captained the country's only professional team ... He has a strong link to the country now. Really really stoked about this!
