Pleased for Durante. But not great from a Nix point of view. Next season during the November WC playoffs and the build up games we could possibly have Dura, Siggy, Locky, Hogg, Leo all away with the AW's.....thats our entire first choice backline....so who is going to play in defense?

I'm sure that you are right, but personally I don't think Smith is any better than Dura. The fact that Dura was left out of the Socceroo's squad made almost entirely from A-League players means that he is almost never going to get a game for them, especially not when they are full-strength.

The confederations are allowed to wipe everyone's yellow cards ONCE during the qualification period, and the logical time to do it would have been after the Nations Cup. according to AFF the fifa international competition standard for suspensions for yellow cards is:
5 - 1 playing day
7 - 2 playing days
9 - 3 playing days
10 - judicial hearing
seems odd the NZF insist all new zealand comps do this when i don't think any of the other comps around the world do?
