McCowatt comes on at HT (0-1) in a 0-1 loss. Damaging result for Silkeborg's (7th, 32 pts) top 6 chances.

Randers (6th, 32 pts) & Brondby (5th, 32 pts) play each other tonight. The winner is likely locked into the top 6.

Final round of the regular season this weekend. Silkeborg travelling to Brøndby.

Callum McCowatt isn't being released to the All Whites until after his club Silkeborg's big final regular season game in the Danish league against major side Brondby on Monday am NZT.
https://int.soccerway.com/teams/denmark/silkeborg-if-fs/609/
It's a tussle between sixth (Brondby) and seventh (Silkeborg) on the table, both on 32 points.
"Brøndby and Silkeborg will meet in the 22nd and final round, for the last spot in the coming "Championship rounds".
Silkeborg and Brondby are going to end up thoroughly sick of each other.
They are also meeting in the two-legged Danish Cup semi-final starting May 1 NZT.
Although Silkeborg's schedule means McCowatt will arrive later than is ideal for All Whites duty, it works out well for his club since they have no games between Monday morning's final league game and the Championship or Relegation rounds starting on March 31 NZT.

McC subbed on at 68 mins (Silkeborg winning 2-1) in a 2-2 draw.

Unfortunately that result means Silkeborg finish 7th, and will be in the bottom 6 with Wilkins's SønderjyskE after the FIFA window. Was very tight Brondby pipping (+10) Silkeborg (+9) on GD.

Silkeborg (33 pts) are well safe from any relegation threat, but SønderjyskE (17 pts & 2nd last/11th) are in some danger. 4 pts ahead of Veijle (last/12th), and 1 pt behind Lyngby (10th). Bottom 2 teams automatically relegated I think.

Full game for McCowatt in a 2-1 loss.
Good news for Wilkins's SønderjyskE who go up to 10th.

Silkeborg (remain 7th) in no danger of relegation. Their Danish Cup 2 leg semi final against Brøndby their major games left this season (1st & 8th May). Silkeborg of course Danish Cup defending champs.

McCowatt with the early double (8 & 14 mins), as Silkeborg win 4-0.
Was 4-0 by 33 mins in! McC off at 81 mins.

Right foot & then the left. Keeper frozen to the spot both occassions.

He's been in some good club form, after slowly returning from injury.
Injury interrupted season of only 16 games with 7 starts (745 mins in total), but he's managed 4 goals and a few assists - including a lovely one in the previous game.

Big Danish Cup 2 legged semis against Brondby looming.

And he does with the first goal!

Would he be getting on the radar of clubs in the Championship or anything similar?

Important to remember Silkeborg are playing now in the Relegation (bottom 6) split in Denmark. So the goals ain't against FCK, Brondby & Midtjylland.

But McC in some seriously good form. 79 mins (3-0) in a 4-0 win.

Bit of a crazy game, Silkeborg up 3-0 at HT. But Brondby storm back in the 2nd half for a 3-3 finish.

McCowatt off at 81 mins (3-2).

2nd leg next week at Silkeborg.

McC continues his hot form in Denmark and consecutive Danish Cup finals for Silkeborg

He gets the first goal in a 2-1 win (5-4 agg)

That’s a great result and apart from Wood, he is the one kiwi attacker who seems to be playing regularly and performing at the next highest level.

Auckland will rise once more

Interesting that a few of that 2019 U20 side, starting to really find some excellent consistent form. After prior being a bit up & down. Bell, McCowatt & Pijnaker. All now age 26.

All had 5-6 seasons now of professional football. Of course Libby (age 24) remains the standout from that group.

But gives some hope that likes of Singh, Just, Waine, Elliot & even Woud (young for a GK) from that side can still fulfil their promise from 2019.

See that Burnley signed a Peruvian (Danish raised) national team player from Silkeborg in January.

Other semi 2nd leg - FCK hosting Viborg - is tonight.
Danish Cup final 30th May, from memory a national holiday.

Match highlights. First time shot off the left leg, in off the post. Perfect placement. Scored a few mins after a team mate had hit the post.

Silkeborg play on an artifical turf.

Silkeborg host Wilkins's team SonderjyskeE. Sonders 7 pts above the relegation spots with 2 games left. So depending on results tonight, their Superliga spot could be confirmed for next season. Both McC & Wilkins are signed with their clubs until 2027.

Got the assist in a 1-0 win

McC might be attracting some interest elsewhere with this form. Though Silkeborg are in the Relegation split not playing the bigger teams week to week

Short highlights first the goal from last week, and then the assist from last night. Cleverly swivels his body to beat his marker on the outside, and crosses perfectly on a platter for his team mate to tap in.

When you are hot you are hot. Wouldn't surprise if a few scouts turn up to watch the Cup final verus FCK. That's a big stage. Silkeborg sold 24 yr old defender Oliver Sonne to Burnley in January. Sonne mostly just riding the pine since arriving at Turf Moor

McC is signed with Silkeborg to Dec 2027.

100% there will be UK clubs looking at him. Championship clubs have been signing players out of the scandi leagues a lot more frequently these days, I can recall multiple in the January window. Especially given he's naturally an English speaker too, I think there will be some solid interest in Callum.
Annual finals disappointment enthusiast.

Full game McC in a 3-1 win. Silkeborg will now finish 7th (top of the Relegation split) and that means a spot in the UEFA Conference League Play-offs.

So even if they don't beat FCK in the Danish Cup final, they have a chance of European football.
