No heroics at Wembley this season for Wood.

10 mins off the bench replacing Barnes in a 1-0 loss verus Spurs.

Eriksen off the bench, with a late winner at 91 mins.

Unlucky for Burnley to concede at that point. They had contained Spurs very well.

Gets 77 mins, as Burnley lose 3-1 to Arsenal at the Emirates.

Burnley were already 2-1 down when Wood was subbed off, and conceded the third after 90 mins.

Barnes with Burnley’s goal.

How many goals has Woodsy got this season? I can only think of one in the EPL. And how many would he need to score in a season to justify his place as a striker in a top league? 6-8-10?

He's only scored once in the Premier League, vs West Ham in a 4–2 loss. He's scored twice in the qualifying stages of the Europa League but that's it.

I think last season shows that Wood has what it takes to play in the EPL. This season is as much down to Burnley just being terrible in general as it is Wood's form in front of goal.

Agree he's basically got what it takes - when given a decent chance and enough game time. This season the manager is using him more as a bench player which can't help Woodsy's confidence.

Also Burnley just can’t win a penalty. I think they have now set an EPL record games without a pen won.

Saw Dyche angry in press conference about a pen he thought they deserved against the Gunners. I think it was a clear yank on a Burnley  player in the box (Wood?).

Anyway not helping the Woodsman’s scoring stats, being the penalty taker when on the pitch.

Plus he's had a chunk of time out with injuries and coming off the bench with 20-odd minutes left

Looks like Burnley will be spending the 2nd half of the season fighting to avoid relegation.

They fall into the drop zone after being belted 5-1 at home by Everton.

Wood subbed on at 73 mins, when the Clarets were already down 4-1.

Dyche will be under huge pressure now.

It's looking Grim.

Both for the Clarets and for Wood. General fan view is that Wood has been poor this season (wouldn't surprise me if he is a makeweight for a move in Jan).

I know, I know, its serious!

Barnes the other in a 2-1 win at Huddersfield.

Last season’s successful combo.

Helped by Terriers being without Mooy if course, and Schindler being sent off at 41 mins (2 yellows).

Burnley climb two spots above the drop zone.

Next EPL game is Fulham at home.

87 mins in a 2-1 win over Fulham.

All the goal action occurs in the first 23 mins.

Schurrle nets for Fulham at 2 mins, then they concede OGs at 20 & 23 mins.

4 wins on the trot for Clarets (incl FA Cup), they are still only 3 pts above the relegation spots.

First time I've watched a full 90 minutes of Burnley in a while. Wood had the ball in the back of the net around the 80 minute mark but was overruled by a dubious offside call. Wouldn't have been undeserved as Wood, and Burnley, played well. Much better than the first half of the season, hopefully not too late to hold off relegation.

Wood's no goal, from a follow up tap in at end of these short highlights

http://www.espn.com.au/soccer/match?gameId=513611

Extended highlights, and the Woodsman had a big involvement. Makes you wonder why he and Barnes weren't starting together regularly earlier in the season.

https://hoofoot.com/?match=Watford_0_-_0_Burnley_2...

Dyche not happy with the offside call.

Burnley get thumped 5-0 by Man City in FA Cup.

Wood didn’t start, so maybe Dyche was happy enough to lose to concentrate on the league.

Wood gets 30 mins off the bench with Burnley already 3-0 down at that point.

Wood and Barnes upfront together. The latter scores.

Awful defending, not sure he'll score an easier header. United need a CB upgrade to partner Lindelof and a better RB than Valencia and Young, ASAP.
