What a perfomance not only from the whole team but glen moss who was outstading, i started the thread about paston and i was proved correct, we should keep moss in goal from now on and make him the Number 1 keeper and get rid of paston.

What a performance moss and the phoenix!!!

Well done to the whole team today, you all played extremley well and now lets focus on our next match against queensland next sunday, at least you have more preparation time this time.

Enjoy the win and lets hope this continues!!

I think Moss should be number one, but there is no reason to get rid of Paston. Sure he had a poor game by his standards last week, but he is a classy keeper on his day. I don't think there are too many other teams in the competition that have two quality keepers of the same standard. Have to say though Moss really proved his class last night, really looked the goods in goal, maybe the game on the bench fired him up to an even higher level.

Paston is a brilliant goalie as well, but not quite as good in my opinion. Its a shame for Paston to be rotting on the bench, only getting gametime when Moss is injured. I'm starting to wonder whether it was sensible to get both of NZ's top keepers in one squad, they both need games under their belts and they can't get that when both in the same squad.

moss seems to hav a bit more character about him too, more animated which cant b a bad thing in goal. gives the defense a rark up when they need it. paston, and ill admit i havent seen a whole lot of him, seems a bit more timid.

I don't know how you couldn't select Moss after last game. Paston is still a good keeper though but he isn't quite up to the standard which Moss brilliantly showed us last night.

Fairs fair, Moss played second fiddle to Paston at the Knights and deservedly so, now he's in the best form. Well done Moss

Wrong mate.

In season 1 Moss played second fiddle to Milosevic. In season 2 Moss was in Romania whilst Paston was the Knights prefered choice.

Wasn't it Missalotovic?

He never missed a meal in his life.

Was he on the bench last night for Perth or Tomich ?

Fair sure it was Tomich. Seen him chatting with Mossy behind Tim Browns interview.

yup, Moss has not impressed me this season, so it was great for the fella to put in the performance that he did last night.

That is the first game he has impressed you?!

How many one on ones does he have to save before he gets given some credit?

yep same here. I think dropping Moss was justified, but the injury to Paston meant he got given another opportunity, and he took it with both hands. You can't ask for more than that...

does anyone actually know how long he is contracted until? we need to resign him before other clubs approach him......it is clear that he is one of the best going around at the moment

Sign Theoklitos as a 2nd keeper. Let him and Moss fight it out. What a great headache that would be for Big Rick.

I dont think melbourne would let him go that easy...espcially since there other keep is at adelaide. but in saying that he did play in NZ previously.....I think for the Kings

I think the Kingz was his training ground. Plenty of practice there for sure. That's probably why he has become such a good keeper now.

Moss was great - a couple of quality saves in first 15 minutes

but let's not forget for the rest of the game he was pretty well sheltered by a defensive unit (and that defnitely includes Lia, Johnson and Brown) in the midfield that gave Perth little

He wasnt really tested at all second half that i can recall

I was staggered at Perth's lack of urgency and tempo given what was riding on the game

yea, i fell asleep before the game started and woke up about 40 minutes into it lol, I hate late games, I'm useless at staying up for the Premiership games, I've only caught about 20 minutes of one Liverpool game out of the few games they've had on

If one on ones were the only aspect of a keepers performance then maybe I would rate him more highly.

Potentially they are the high stakes part of a keeper's performance (unless yours truly was the striker ), but unconvincing marshalling of defence, flapping at crosses, lack of physical presence (does Moss ever give you the impression that he would take out his own defenders head if it got in the way? - best keepers take no prisoners, including their own in my experience) are other aspects that I am still unconvinced about.

However, the boy done good other night.

Moss, it seems to me, is the glue for the back four. They held it together really well with Moss behind them; and they were under constant attack. With Paston behind them they seemed to go to pieces.
Keep Moss in the box and look for more wins under the clubs belt before we bring Paston back on for a shot. Harsh, yes but Moss is the number one keeper in the team right now, no denying it.

Hopefully Paston is still the All Whites no 1 - looking ahead to Sydney on the 17th I would hate to lose Christie, Lochhead and Moss.

The rugby administrators always seem capable of scheduling matches at appropriate times for the away team.

I think I should stop there before I dig myself into a big hole.

yes, I think the defence seems to be less organised when Paston is in goal. Paston is the better shot stopper in my opinion, but maybe he has to make so many save because he can't get his defence to work well with him?

Moss is the greatest goalie in the league...the greatest goalie in the league...and so cute!   Moss has excellent instincts and I think the defenders have more to answer for.
