Suddenly got a trial in Wellington to go to? pretty weird behaviour after 4 years

They let him go trial with the FFA Jets during the final stages of the season, so packing up and going home instead of playing the finals series seems a bit of a slap in the face. Must surely be more too this.

I'll take my chance because luck is on my side or something...

Her name is Rio, she don't need to understand...

Oh Rio, Rio, hear them shout across the land..."

talked to Ramon at ACFC today - he said Burfoot had been released to pursue an opportunity in Aus, later said re/-transfer window that they can only replace players outside of the window who have gone and signed pro contracts then he mention that they were hoping Sam would sign his contract soon - so Burfoot not getting much game time at City but potential pro contract in Aus? CCM? FFA Jets?

Jets are set to announce an international midfielder but I would be shocked if it was him.

20yo giant goalie Shane Viitakangas playing for Palm Beach Sharks in NPL Queensland....would be good for our Rio Olympics squad......oh.......

And a guy for the U20s - attacking midfielder Omar Abdigafar plays for Green Gully in NPL Victoria (or at least, he did as a 17yo in 2015)

Joseph Champness is an 18yo forward/winger, just transferred to Brisbane Roar Youth from Moreton Bay (both in the NPL Queensland league) - born in Auckland, so another U20 option

Burfoot in the 'April team of the month' for NPL East

RM: Sam Burfoot (Eastern Lions)

Jim Williams’ side were unbeaten over the course of the month as they collecting 10 points from a possible 12 with Burfoot being one of their most impressive performers. The Kiwi was in the thick of the action in his side’s 4-0 win over Werribee which included a goal to his name from the spot. Valuable contributions in their next two games followed before collecting a priceless winning assist via a pin-point cross into the box in the dying moments of the Murray United game.

Burfoot isn't a kiwi though, right?

Pretty sure he was one of the ones granted an exemption after the Olympics debacle.

3-2 win for Jason Hicks' Melbourne Knights last night, he opened the scoring with a free kick that was deflected into the oppositions net

I liked Hicks, with a little more time I think he would have proven himself more than capable of deserving a spot.
