@ryansrovers yes. Sub throw ball and hit retreating player. Yellow! Then I think same player kicked out at player, straight red. Very slow game till NC scored.

According to the Australia State League thread on this forum it's no mean feat being a Visa Player under the new NPL rules.  Eager will be one of few kiwis in the new NPL I'm guessing.  He must be on decent money to switch from Northcote cos he was a big hit there, and I reckon he's better off in the NPL than on the Nix roster never playing - he's gaining experience at a good level and has much better exposure to the A-League scouts.

Has dual residency(Nationality) - so is not an import in NZ or Oz. An advantage for A-Leauge

Ah clever lad - very clever player too so that makes sense!  I guess there will few other kiwi lads who have duel residency in the NPL then now, which is a shame - Aussies can play here with no disadvantages.

Also means he might be snapped up by the Socceroos at some point.

I just saw an FB post that said Ethan Galbraith (ex NZ u-20s) is at Sutherland Sharks in the NSW NPL and Jude Fitzpatrick (ex Caversham) is at Eager's old club Northcote City in the Victoria NPL.  Anyone know more?  If it's true it's good news for these two boys.

06 Mar 07:53

I liked Galbraith as a player. Fairly mobile for quite a big lad. Hope he does well.

Also hearing South Melbourne have signed James Musa.

Woo hoo! Nice one. Glad for him. Oz's biggest club outside the A-League.

There are guys on this forum smarter than me and guys on this forum that know guys that know guys that can nudge the Phoenix. If this guys is what people say he is, why is he not getting a crack.

*devils advocate* Is this a bit like Clapham and should get his ass to Wellington and put in some yards off his own back and be a walk on?

Treatment from NZF? How does this tie in with the Phoenix? He was not on the verge of an AW call up so am intrigued

Eager has dual NZ + Oz residency already.

James Musa's signing with South Melbourne FC just officially released by club.

Mike Eager's SMFC came from behind to win late for their second league win of the season 3-2 away at Port Melbourne Sharks.  James Musa featured- his debut coming after 74 mins. SMFC also had a tight 1-0 away win against Sunshine George Cross (great names these Aussie teams) in the 4th round of the Dockerty Cup (the semi-finalists progress to the new FFA Cup) last weekend.

PM Sharks vs SMFC

Also in Vic Jude Fitzpatrick's Northcote City beat Port Melbourne Sharks 3-0 away in the 4th round of the Dockerty Cup. He won peno.  Northcote play Bentleigh Greens in a repeat of last year's VPL final in the NPL tomorrow.

PM Sharks vs Northcote

Someone told me Dakota Lucas was playing in Vic but I don't know where.  Anyone know?  I know Zane Sole is at NPL side Heildleberg Utd but hasn't played for a while due to injury.

In NPL-NSW Ethan Galbraith's Sutherland Shark's bounced back from a first round loss to beat South Coast Wolves 2-1. It was Galbraith's first start - he came on at half time

Sharks vs Wolves

Also in the NPL-NSW ex ACFC player Daniel Saric featured in Manly Utd's loss to Marconi.  It look's like Saric is now playing as a winger.

Marco vs Manly Utd

Last of all out west Dunedin's Matt Brook is with Burnley Academy side Balcatta FC - they had a 4-2 win last week against Armadale SC - the 19-yr old defender was on the bench and didn't feature.

Armadale vs Balcatta FC

These lads in Aussie are playing at a decent level - we should keep track of them I think.  Hence, my comments here - I might even do weekly updates. So if you hear of any other kiwi lads playing in the NPL please post it here.

Live in Melboune mate it's easy -  will keep doing. Follow anything Italian if you get it.  Problem is there are too many really good Greek lads here.

Dakota Lucas plays for Noble Park Utd in State League 1 - he's better than that IMO.

Dunedins young Matt Brook played the full 90 in Balcattas 4-1win over Ingilwood United at the weekend.

Played 3 of the first 4 four rounds.

Lookin sharpe by all reports

Because of the Visa issues with the NPL (Only two non aussies per NPL team)

Its screwing with any opportunities for the Kiwis

New strategy for NZF: inter-marriage with Aussies.

I hear that Daniel Saric is playing for Manly United NSWPL. He has scored a few goals as well.
