Yeah Vandinho is a very good forward so it's going to be good for Kosta to play with guys of his quality

I like his choice of number as well. Wouldn't be an acceptable choice in the Premier League but looks class everywhere else in Europe.

Was a good finish indeed. Encouraging to see that he started (and finished) the match. Also interesting to see that he was paired with another debutant up front. Hopefully they get promoted so he can play against the likes of CSKA, Zenit, Dynamo, Rubin etc. Definately not a bad league to be in! Fingers crossed.

I remember Paul Ifill saying in his first Nix season that he thought the two kiwi youngsters Kosta and Marco had the potential to play in Europe....maybe not Premier league but certainly at a reasonable leve3l. He rated their talent. at the time I thought he was just "pissing in our pockets". But his analysis was bang on. If things go well for Kostas new team he could be playing Div 1 in Russia next season. As for Marco...watch this space. He probably is technically a better player than Kosta

so, if Vuko was still with us we could shout "throw the bomb"

at least until we were arrested for offences under the terrorism act

Russians seem to be very positive about our Kosta: They've been excitedly posting footage of him playing for Brisbane on YouTube since rumours of him signing for Alania surfaced last month. Although to be fair, the more high-profile signing has been that of El Salvador's biggest star Rodolfo Zelaya, which has provoked much interest in Alania from El Salvadoran fans on YouTube etc. (tens of thousands of views). Nice that Kosta stole Zelaya's thunder in what was heavily touted as Zelaya's debut!!!

Alania lost 3-0 to Besiktas this morning in the Europa League in Turkey.

Kosta on as a 53rd min sub
Former Real Madrid & Spain favourite Guti scored the second goal.

Got hammered 3-0 by Siberia Novosibirsk in Siberia.
Kosta started the second half.
Still leading the table but lead cut to one point now (with a game in hand on their closest rivals).
Although Alania have the best defensive record by far (only 12 goals conceded in 22 games) there are 6 teams below them who've scored more goals:

Alania beat Besiktas 2-0 this morning in the seond leg of their Europa League qualifier but still went out 2-3 on goal difference.
Kosta didn't get any game time today.

Just lost at home to Shinnik. Still top with a game in hand. No match reports out yet and no line-ups on Soccerway so not sure if Kosta played any part or not.

Yeah, annoying that. From memory it goes roughly like this: slightly speculative diagonal long ball into the pen area results in three defenders rushing an Alania forward, who lays off a nice square pass to an unmarked Kosta which he controls and from about 10 yards fires low through the keeper's legs.
 
Was in about the 54th minute, just a minute or so after Alania had scored the equaliser.

Kosta started and was subbed in the 59th minute in Alaniya's win today against Volgar-Gazprom. The goals weren't scored by the other strikers though which is good for Kosta. Looks as though a midfielder and a central defender scored the goals for Alaniya.

Alaniya just drew 0-0 away with 4th placed Ural. Alaniya are now 2nd on the table, although they have played one less game than the teams around them. There goes the comfortable lead they had a couple of weeks ago.

Kosta started and was subbed off in the 54th.

They lost 1 zip on friday and he didn't get on. Yet looking at the goal scoring records of the strikers who did play and you gotta wonder! Dreadful. Kosta's 2 goals in 7 games (4 starts) looks prolific by comparison.
