Both Boxall and Brockie have started the PSL game against Orlando Pirates in Pretoria this evening. Good news as Boxall has scored the only goal of the game so far - 73mins gone currently. A big result for Supersport if they can hold out.

I would've posted a final result on this game but it STILL hasn't finished! Been postponed for well over an hour so far because, with just over 60 minutes on the clock, the power went out - in true South African style (I used to live there and it's common). Boxall's goal came directly from a free-kick.

the match has been abandoned until midday Wednesday (ZA time) when they will play the final 28 minutes.....bonkers - bet Brockie bags a couple after breakfast. Good to see Boxall get a goal, really has been wearing a couple of wayward defensive efforts

Finished 1-0 this lunchtime. A good result for Supersport and a welcome boost for Michael Boxall who had started to come in for a bit of stick with the fans.

I really wish we had retained him tbh. Good on him for jumping at the opportunity.

Me too. Really enjoyed watching him play; that goal against Melbourne where he teed up Burns for the tap in was classic.

Boxall scored overnight as Supersport defeated Uni of Pretoria. Played 90 mins as did Brockie.

No Harry Edge for Uni of Pretoria and he hasn't featured since his solitary appearance a few months ago

Guess he is playing at RB rather than CB

Has played RB every game according to Transfermarket good news considering Roux I guess.

I liked him at RB for the Nix. A large fast RB is another dimension to what most clubs are used to

Yeah. Shame Fenton isn't another 8 inches taller with pace to burn.

Its interesting they had Furman, Morton, Boxall, Grobler, Brockie and Daniels who is mixed race. Boxall, Brockie and Grobler either scored or created all the goals.  Would be the first time since the league began that there were as many white players as black on a team

The whitest team in the PSL, lose their 1st game of the new season 0-1 away to Platinum Stars.

Both Boxall & Brockie played the full 90 mins.

Posted under Boxall thread as feel he alone should be picked for the Mexico & USA friendlies, with his team mate not.

Overnight Supersport drew 0-0 with Free State Stars. Both Kiwis started.

Supersport have scored a paltry 2 goals in their 5 league and cup games to date - so not much to report for Brockie.

However they have conceded zero goals in their last 3 games - so at least looking solid at Boxall's end of the pitch.

PSL seems a low scoring sort of league.

Ever since coochiee's update on 25 September this has been what Boxall has been up to:

  • 90 minutes played in a 1–1 draw away to the team that at the time was first place Golden Arrows (28 September).
  • 77 minutes played in a 4–1 win at home to Highlands Park (10th) (16 October).
  • 120 minutes played in a 1–0 win after extra time at home to Ajax Cape Town in which in the 92nd minute he assisted the match-winning goal for Thuso Phala (22 October).

Played 90 minutes in a 2–0 win over Ajax Cape Town. Yellow carded in the 39th minute. After this win they are now in 4th place! They play Orlando Pirates on Tuesday at home. SuperSport are undefeated at home so far this season.

Boxall scored a brace on Tuesday vs Orlando Pirates and assisted Grobler as well in a 6–1 romp. 10/10 performance from him.

Low quality highlights below as I couldn't find any good highlights. Boxall's goals at 1:43 and 2:07

Three clean sheets in a row for Boxall including the 1–0 semifinal win over Orlando Pirates. The final is this weekend on Sunday NZ time.

The other two clean sheets came in a 2–0 win over Bidvest Wits, who at the time were first, and a 0–0 away draw to Bloemfontein. SuperSport are currently second with the first-placed team being Cape Town City FC, the team they will face in the cup final this weekend.

If true, sign him up!

He's been there for two years, and after struggling initially seems to have become a key member, so I wonder what would be the catalyst for him leaving?

Would he start ahead of Durante... his pace would allow our full backs to push on more a he can cover the space quicker. It would also give us a second RB option and create some depth with at least two good options for either flank.

I think he *should* start ahead of Dura. Whether Kalezic would do that or not is a different story...

I think with a new coach coming in, it's the perfect time to start benching Dura.

I just wish Lowry wasn't signed.

Realistically, how much $ can Lowry be on? Sign Boxall on a multi-year deal and see how he goes partnered with Rossi.

At the end of the season, Durante will be done and Rossi's future will be a matter of the conditions of the '+1' on his deal.

If he stays, cool. If he leaves, we still have three good A-League level CBs ready to go and his visa spot. There's no such thing as 'too much depth'

There is if you have a squad limit. I still think Boxall would be worth the roster spot.

Could we not get the spot back if we release someone mid-season? There are surely 2-3 candidates to bite the bullet there

We must him because we couldn't afford him my guess is after the last couple of years he's only gone up in value.
