Dons win 2-0. Benefit from Tranmere going down to 10 men from 30th min (1-0).

0-0 it finishes as the Dons drop to 12th, but after a good run of form are still in with a serious shout of moving towards those playoff spots.

5 clean sheets in his past 5 matches, and hasn't conceded a goal for 475 minutes in League Two action since their come from behind 3-2 win over Harrogate Town. He grabbed himself an assist for the 88th minute winner in that one too!

Long way to go of course, but a very good return to form over this past month or so given the serious scrutiny he came under given their relatively poor start to the season after relegation.

From Flying Kiwis. 5 clean sheets in a row in League Two for Tzanev, as Dons turnaround their season.

Five in a row? Yeah you’d better believe it. There have been some other games in between in cup competitions, with Tzanev’s backup Nathan Broome playing the 1-0 EFL Trophy knockout win over Sutton United and Tzanev getting the 2-0 FA Cup second round defeat to Chesterfield. But in League Two action the man has been unbeatable. 

2-0 vs Leyton Orient (H/Nov 8)
0-0 vs Salford City (A/Nov 12)
2-0 vs Tranmere Rovers (A/Nov 19)
1-0 vs Grimsby Town (H/Dec 3)
0-0 vs Swindon Town (A/Dec 10)

Big freeze hits Europe.

Dons game against Stevenage postponed, due to a frozen pitch.

Same for Crocombe's Grimsby & Tommy Smith's Colchester - their League Two matches called off.

Was 3-3 end of NT. Plymouth won pen shootout 4-3.

Tzanev was actually on the bench, reserve keeper given a game.

FotMob gives him MotM for his performance in this one. Sounded like he didn't have a heck of a lot to do.

But he did concede a penalty...


Which he then saved.

He's been in cracking form recently between the sticks.
9 clean sheets from last 14 games across all competitions.

All to play for across the backend of the season for the Don's (10th) who are currently 3 points off the playoff positions (4th through 7th). Very pleasing to see him come into form after a tough start to the campaign, and fresh off of relegation last season.

From Flying Kiwis. Might get an AWs callup if there are European friendlies in June. But League Two plays through the March window. Agruably the form Kiwi GK at the moment.



Nik Tzanev: “The whole international thing is massive for me, because I'm born there, and I grew up there. The more I can play for New Zealand, help them progress and get more recognition as a footballing nation, that's something I want to do for sure. That would be one of my main goals.”  

Good yarns in there from NT. Unfortunately his three-game clean sheet streak came to an end in a 1-0 loss to Leyton Orient. Good competitive match against the first placed team in the division, with a few class saves from Tzanev, which despite the defeat bodes well for the Dons moving into the last third of the campaign. If they can push on from here then a spot in the playoffs is definitely not beyond their capabilities. Tzanev has 11 clean sheets in League Two this term – fifth most in the league.

League Two doesn't break for March window. Take your pick from Sail, Woud, Marinovic (unless he is trialling somewhere) & Paulsen.

But yes Tzanev in the mix for any friendlies in Europe later this year.

Tzanev has certainly done enough to push Woud out of 3rd choice keeper, he'd probably be pushing Marinovic for #2 at this stage.

I'd almost be tempted to swap Woud out for Paulsen.

Queenslander 3x a year.

New J League season starts next weekend, will be interesting to see where Woud sits in the keeper peaking order at Kyoto Sanga.

A 0-0 draw. Tzanev in goal. Another clean sheet.

Dons sit 13th on the table, but have equal 5th lowest Goals Against (equal with Stockport & Northampton who are in playoff spots). So Tzanev & his defenders are doing their bit.

20 yr old Tete Yengi (ex Newcastle Jets), subbed off at 56 mins for Northampton. Yengi was in the Finnish top flight with VPS in 2022, playing against Rogerson & Whyte. He's only recently arrived in the UK

Frustrating for Dons with conceding 2nd goal in 96th min. Sort of game they need to win to make the playoffs.

Tzanev in goal for a 2-3 loss. Sort of result that makes it unlikely the Dons (15th) will make the promotion playoffs.

They are 11 points below Salford City in 7th (the last playoff spot) with 13 games left.
