Yes, glad it has become available online as well as being in the paper. Hopefully it'll reach more people.

Edit: Screenshot from front page of Dom website! Title is a bit um... Yeah! "Fever soothes sufferers"

Unbelievable. Only Stuff could open a story after that performance with a downer of a sentence. How they managed to focus on pouring cold water on it, I'll never know.

AND Hamish Bidwell is wrong.

The game against Victory is ABSOLUTELY NOT the only game that matters. According to the soothsayers of doom at Stuff, like Danny Hay, who inist on regurgitating Mike Cockerill's bullshit, crowd numbers are a critical factor for the Phoenix.

Well, if that is the case the game against the Jets is bloody important too. It is the one people will be talking about at work on Tuesday. It is the performance that will have a MAJOR influence on whether we get 7,000, 10,000 or more against WSW on Friday 7th of November.

Also, going into the Victory game, the players confidence is sky high. It's sky high because of the last two results, AND the way the team played in those two wins. Reviewing what worked, and what they can do better is CRITICAL to how the team will play against the Victory, so next Monday's game is demonstrably NOT the only game that matters.

Very strange line to take.  3 points against victory is the same as 3 points against Newcastle.  Very poor editorial line here

I'm not even sure he has an opinion.  Is he in favour of overseas players or against them?  Can a local team still have an identity, and will fans identify with their local team if the players are from overseas or not?  It's poorly constructed, lightweight, wittering, would have taken him 15 minutes to write and really isn't worth the paper it's written on

Apparently its Moss' fault we lost.

he said "cost the phoenix victory".

He ironically backs up his own article with that remark. Yes, Moss' mistake did contribute greatly to us not winning the game. But equal blame should also be given to those who missed sitters at the other end.

The reason Goalkeepers mistakes are blamed more often than strikers missing chances is because it doesn't happen as often as a missed chance.

Exactly. The game should have been effectively over by the time Moss made his mistake. Even then it is far from a howler, a shot that bounces in front like that is always difficult and keepers with a greater Pedigree than Moss have spilt similar ones before

Ha yeah, it felt so much like a loss i forgot it was a draw. My bad.

Still though, hardly a "colossal blunder" from Moss. He'd be about 2% blame as an individual for us not winning.

The story he tells about David James and the divot wasn't actually James, it was Paul Robinson. Only a small thing but you would think that there would be some form of fact check.

Tonights Headlines:

"Dubious penalty earns Wellington Phoenix 1-0 victory over Western Sydney Wanderers"

And...

"Kiwi referee Peter O’Leary at centre of controversy again, but on smaller stage"

Sam Worthington, you are a boring, negative and predictable cod.

Not even the most vile writer could write something bad about that match. It had everything you could have asked for including Manny scoring and good crowd.

Its a Dom Post sort of style thing i.e. headline grabbing, sensationalism, cheap journalism. That's an editorial decision. The journalist gets asked to write up the game but headlines sell papers. Better articles with integrity in NZ Herald sports section e.g. Daniel Richardson.

When did Stuff change the web page to "Football HQ"?

When NZF started paying them for it.

They have struck a deal with Fairfax to "lead content" there. It's off the back of the live streaming of the futsal last year...NZF provide content and cash and get preferential treatment from Fairfax.

Advertorial ftw.

Incredible stamina. No shame. Yellow Fever.

Sam Worthington and the sub editors got carried away again...

"poor draw at Hutt Recreation Ground"

What is "A curious crowd"?

Profile pic. Should you be interested. Lakhsen, on the right, lost touch with him.
Mohammed, on the left, I'm still in touch with. He's now living in Agadez, Niger. More focused on his animals now as tourism has dried up. Is active with a co-op promoting local goods, leather work and bijouterie, into Europe.
