If you sign up for MLBTV, there is a free game every day, which is great if (like me) you don't passionately support a team, and just like to occasionally sit down and watch a game of baseball

All I do is make the stuff I would've liked
Reference things I wanna watch, reference girls I wanna bite
Now I'm firefly like a burning kite

I was in Hawaii last October when the world series was on (Mumford and Sons vs St Louis), so watched a lot of the games.  Was great fun.  I've watched a bit of baseball in the past, but the itensity of the WS was something else.  Got me all excited to really get back into this season

Good point FM. The free game is great.

I tend to go monthly at the start of the season. Then during the middle of the season go for free or espn games. Then toward the end of the season they drop the price to an ok level so you can watch any important game you want in the lead up to the playoffs - then you can watch all playoff games .

Going to Dodgers and Diamondbacks in Sydney in March. May start a fight with 2nd Best to see if we can get Aussie media to harp on about baseball hooligans.

been a lot of full games uploaded to youtube - I don't mind watching games that have already been played as long as I don't know the result. Aside from the Mets, I also like the the Pirates, Twins and hapless Rockies

As someone who supports teams based on their uselessness (Mets, West Ham, Washington Generals) I have to say that the Mets doing well doesn't sit comfortably with me.

that's how I chose my teams - useless but good colours (no red teams). However, Mets, Pirates and Twins are all doing well...it's weird. I chose St Louis for NFL, and they are still probably crap, even after winning yesterday.

Even the Mets' hitter are doing pretty well now - they did some nice recruiting.

nothing will ever beat This day

So many interwoven stories. So much drama.

One of the greatest sporting nights in history.

As a Rays fan, and having been to a game there that season, it was particularly amazing.

I Went absolutely berserk on the Johnson and Longoria home runs.

Goosebumps whenever I watch or read about it again.

yeah missing him a lot at the Rays. Did amazing things.

If you have a bit of time, give "the extra 2%" from Jonah Keri a read, it's interesting.

Cards v Cubs today, and Mets vs Dodgers. I'm hoping Utley plays and gets a pitch in the ribs.

Sky absolutely screwed up the scheduling for the games today (almost always happens, which is why I usually watch on MLB tv).

Mysky recording entered the blue jays game in top of 4th inning with 8 runs already scored.

They completely missed the earlier royals v Astros game, and in fact it started recording from 11am - a few hours after the game had finished.

They usually cut the recording before the game is finished too, so I imagine that is what will happen with the last two games.

Naturally they passed the Buck and blamed ESPN, but the games were broadcasting, Sky just didn't check their EPG matched up with the actual time of the games - clearly their fault.

Went to St Louis a few years back and had a fantastic time. Have also been to see the White Sox play at home, and been to the Mets twice, so I am very much looking forward to a Mets v Cards match up in the National League.

Have no affiliation or interest in any of the teams left in the American League so they can do what they want.

Cubs and Mets both win in epic games... Mets score 13! one win away from NL final.

Of the AL teams, I prefer Bluejays, then Astros.

Cubs make it through!

Was halfway through watching the game, decided I'd open snapchat and they had a story titled "Cubs clinch!" - so that was an unexpected spoiler. Lesson learnt!

Happy spoiler though! Probably won't go all the way, but stranger things have happened in baseball.

Since it maybe that NZ will have a baseball team in the ABL, should try bring this thread back from the dead. http://web.theabl.com.au/news/article.jsp?ymd=2018...

The Australian Baseball League has tonight confirmed a New Zealand team has been added to the competition.

The New Zealand team will be one of two new teams, alongside one from Korea. The two will join the six current Australian teams.

The eight teams will form two conferences, playing a 160-game season across 10 weeks. Each team will play eight home and away games against the other three teams in its conference, with cross-conference teams matching up in a single, four-game series each season.

Looking forward to seeing the North Harbour Diamond take shape - Pitches mount will need more sand and compacting.
