I've decided to support the Lions. A crap team I know but I used to have a soft spot for them when Barry Sanders was still playing. I asked my wife to buy a Sanders shirt when she went to the States a few years back but she returned with a Charlie Batch shirt instead. Doh!

Oh well, at least theres no relegation in the NfL.

Wow Colts were good today, Brees was poor as was most of the team, especially their defensive backfield. Manning, Addai, Wayne and Harrison will take some stopping, I also like Clark who was good last year in playoffs.

I look forward to seeing Manning over a full season cos I dont think I've ever seen a QB throw like he did yesterday.

The Saints rookie CB was sh*te.

I requested Marvin Harrison as one of my WR's in the draft so hope I got him.

Lions beat Raiders 36-21 i can hardly believe it we are actually 1-0!! This will probably be our sole win of the season so i best savour the moment.

Three for me, and two for them.

We've got a Yellow Fever fantasy league set up on yahoo, but we need one more player to sign up before the league can proceed...the league name is Yellow Fever, the league id number is 347668 and the password is phoenix...once signed up, PM with the player picks for your team...

After about 6 or 7 seasons without watching an NFL game I managed to watch 4 this week (probably due to no EPL games). Loved every minute.

I noticed a few changes. Since when did NFC teams play AFC teams outside the superbowl? What happened to Candlestick Park?  And when did Detroit become the best team in the NFC north?

GO THE LIONS!!!!

NFC NORTH W L T PCT PF PA STRK DIV CONF Detroit 1 0 0 1.000 36 21 Won 1 0-0 0-0 Green Bay 1 0 0 1.000 16 13 Won 1 0-0 1-0 Minnesota 1 0 0 1.000 24 3 Won 1 0-0 1-0 Chicago 0 1 0 .000 3 14 Lost 1 0-0 0-0

Hammer Head, let's get one thing straight. The Lions are most definately NOT the best team in the NFC North. Like i said this may well be our only win of the season so live it up!!

Three for me, and two for them.

Oh. They used to be good. Keith Moon...no wait the other Moon? Oh yeah Warren - was their QB. They had good receivers too. And they had a chubby kiwi guy Dixon playing for them. Hope its on ESPN.

The Cards let me down, i really thought ML would bring the goods and come thru in Week 1.......how many injuries have ravaged the league just quietly!

I bet Tiki Barber is wishing he could come back now.

Doubt it. The Lions are never on TV either. Haven't played MNF in yonks.

Three for me, and two for them.

u know why they are never on TV????

Becoz they are consistently rubbish - Calvin Johnson should have pulled a "Eli Manning" and not gone with the team he was drafted to. Imagine CJ lining up in the Bengals or Steelers WR set.....a lot more exciting getting a pass from Big Ben or Carson Palmer than John "More Teams than Matt Carnihan" Kitna

Doesn't change the fact we're TOP OF THE DIVISION!!!!

Give Leinart a couple of seasons and I reckon he'll have the goods. Alex Smith is damn good now after what sounds like an average rookie season.

After 1 game? Hey the Lions wear the same colour as Man City......TOP OF THE DIVISION (at one stage early on anyways) hahahahaha come on HH!

Alex Smith has Battle and Vernon Davis as some good targets and Frank Gore is one of the best all around (running, catching, pass protection) running backs around......watch out for a big career from this kid. Hes worked hard on his release of the football in the offseason and changed his mechanics a little from last season.

How about LT being STOPPED all day by that Bears defense?

How about LT throwing a touch down and running in one too, and receiving for 50 yards.

he ran for under 100 yards tho, poor by his standards. And i think you'll find LT throwing TDs isn't anything new.

He ran for 25 yards. Even Matt Leinart and Alex Smith both got more than that.

Pats v Chargers on ESPN next Monday. Look forward to that one.

The Pats will roll SD bigtime......look at how much time Brady had in the pocket....even when he wasn't comin out of the Shotgun - MVP season coming up for Brady perhaps?

And Randy Moss.....who outruns TRIPLE COVERAGE for a 40 yard TD?? Mr R. Moss does....thats who.

Oh yeah I remember him. Used to be a Viking. Still that good huh.

caught 9 passes for 183 yards and 1 TD.......he's back to his best and he's 31 or something.....i think he'll go double digits and over 1200 yards receiving this year.

If the Pats are so good then why do they have to resort to cheating?

Oh, and I forgot...

...Go Big D!

And I'll take TO over Randy Moss any day.

Why wud u take TO? Hes arrogant without being funny.....not like Chad Johnson......and he actually likes soccer (well of on a tangent here) and played up unil his mid teens.....

Easy - he'll go across the middle. Randy Moss is only interested in highlight reels and looks good going deep but doesn't get into the dirty work.

And TO can make the circus catches too, see the one hander for a TD against the Giants.

Oh, and I don't mind when he dances on the star in Texas stadium now

why go over the middle when u have Wes Welker to do that? T.O is past it....yes a great circus catch.....but thats T.O - a circus act, a 1 trick pony.......Moss is goin to be used in the running attack on end-arounds and is a "TEAM" man nowadays.....T.O is all about one person.....T.O......don't rate him, be suprised if he lasts the seasons with the 'Boys

Just so everyone knows, I've been in self-imposed exile on this thread after that dreadful performance last Friday. Hopefully we'll turn things around against the Bucs this week...

It's make or break for a few teams already. I think the Pats are the only team to win a superbowl after being 0-2. Alot of pressure on the likes of Saints, Philly and Cards.

i'll be goin solo then, no one in this office could even come close to figuring out what a weak side Linebacker is let alone the ins and outs of a 3-4 defence and the flexibility it offers a team fond of using a wide range of bliting schemes (see Blitzburgh Steelers).

bwahahaha
