'Boys beat the Jets 34-3, set a franchise record for the best ever start to a season at 10-1 and Romo equaled the franchise record for TD passes in a season with 5 games left.

Next week against the Pack is gonna be a helluva game.

Saints beat the Panthers 31-6, still hanging in the play-off race by the skin of our teeth.

Giants got crushed by the Vikes at home.

Who would have thought it, the Eagles are leading the Pats 28-24 with 38 seconds left in the 3rd quarter.

Sorry, News, they couldn't hold on. 31-28 Pats who have already clinched the division title with 5 games left!

Tom Brady only threw 1 TD pass...

Who watched today's water logged game. Horrible game 3-0

I needed 6' fan points' from Ben to win my head 2 head this week in fantasy, don't think I'll get that 160 yards and an INT

I watched the first half. The pitch looked worse than Homestead stadium in July.
30 Nov 02:20 · edited 09 Sep 04:59
Big Ben was 18 of 21 on the day as well, not a bad effort in that weather.
30 Nov 02:59 · edited 09 Sep 04:59
Halftime at Texas Stadium, Dallas up 27-17. Favre out of the game with an arm injury (or was it the 2 int's he'd thrown).

Anyone else watch the Pats/Ravens game?

I couldn't believe Baltimore punted at 4 and 1 with 1m30sec left on the clock. It was so predictable that Brady would step up and win it from there. One more yard and the Ravens could have wound the clock down.

I wonder what the Dolphins are paying to beat them in a couple of weeks?

I didn't see the game, where were they? And did Pats have any TOs?

Horrible, horrible game. Oh!!! the Ravens blew it they handed the Patriots the game, kept making little mistakes, calling a time out just before Brady went short on a 4th down. Pass interference on a 4th and long...so many little bits, couldn't get a first on there last 3 plays after McGahee dominated all the downs before, Boller throwing for a TD even though the receiver was triple covered and they where in FG range (resulting in a INT), the offence choked and the defence tried to make up for it

Almost converted the hail mary at the end though.

Yeah Dolphins should be paying a heap,  Beck, Chatman and Ginn upset Pats.

They got Big Ben, Willie and Hines Ward to get past next week.
04 Dec 22:32 · edited 09 Sep 04:59
the ravens blew it becoz of the 2 things and 2 things only.

passing the ball in the 4th Qtr with a lead

letting mcgahee run only 6 times in the 4th Qtr.

amateurish.

My boys still going strong, Cowboys to make Superbowl, 11-1!
10 Dec 21:05 · edited 09 Sep 04:59
Cowboys play their "get out of jail free" card and win ugly while applying the rule "Sometimes it is better to be lucky than good". 12-1 and division champs.

How bad is the NFC West that a team can clinch the division with a record of only 9-4 with 3 games to play?

The Lions are still in the play-off race, as are the Saints, despite the 6-7 record with three games to go.

Just goes to show how crap the NFC really is....

Yeah but you know fate is against you when you lose the way we did against the Cowboys.

Three for me, and two for them.

Well, we're running out of running backs (Aaron Stecker is our starter now ), but I'm still hoping...

Quite a win over the Falcons today though. Vick really has left them in a bad way.

Yep, managed to see most of it. Was really pleased with our run-defence, but then again there was no Vick to contend with. Doubt he'll come back to the NFL after that sentence he got today.

I was also watching Sportscenter earlier tonight and Steve Young claimed that Marques Colston could become the best WR in the NFL if he keeps progressing at the rate he is at the moment. Already rates him as one of top 5 right now. Pretty good praise for a guy who got picked in the 7th round of the draft last season and who no-one expected to actually make the roster at the time.

Was watching PTI last night and they were talking about it. With his voluntary time already served and good behaviour he could be available for the '09 season and the Falcons GM stated that he hasn't ruled out a return for Vick!!

Well, the MNF crew were talking to Arthur Blank (Falcons owner) during the Saints-Falcons game and asked him about that comment, and Blank pretty much said they were looking to go ahead as a franchise without Vick, mentioning that Vick's return to the NFL after serving the sentence was both unassured and even unlikely. So that first quote that surfaced seems a case of poor reporting (or Blank had a change of heart in the meantime).
The MNF crew also thought it was unlikely that Vick would be back in the NFL (especially Jaws) - saying that 2 years in the slammer will adversely impact his greatest asset (athleticism), and that spending 3 seasons away from the league would require a long re-adjustment period. In all, they thought that once out of jail, Vick would not be the athlete he had been before, and with his passing skills (not very flash at the best of times anyway) not improving during his time in jail, NFL teams would be crazy to even think about signing him in 2009.

Completely agree with all that but the PTI guys did say he would never be a franchise QB again but they saw the potential for him to return in some form, if he wants to.

There are plenty of examples of QB's coming back to the game after a break as a veteran backup, especially to a rookie QB. Bledsoe, Johnson, Garcia, Testaverde just to name a few off the top of my head.

Or even the CFL if he was desparate to play again

Yeah, there was a good example yesterday as well - Chris Redman starting for the Falcons after 5 years away from the NFL. Played OK too, not his fault that Falcons are just so abysmal at the moment.

7-7 now, still alive in the play-off race...go the Bears tomorrow!
17 Dec 22:49 · edited 09 Sep 04:59
I'm surprised we haven't seen Hard News here yet crowing over the Eagles win. A pretty tame effort from the 'Boys. Don't go to sleep yet, there's still the first round bye and home field advantage to play for yet and the playoffs are just around the corner.

...and the Fish avoided the whitewash!!

17 Dec 23:01 · edited 09 Sep 04:59
did u see Fred Taylor slice and dice the best run defense in the league? what is goin on with that Steelers defense! looks to me as if they arent bringing Polamalu up into the box enuf at all......not cool.

hahahaha the fins looked like they'd won the super bowl!

The Ravens now have the dubious honour of losing to quite possibly the worst team in the history of the NFL.

Three for me, and two for them.

Well, the Fish have just ensured that they won't be remembered as such...The 1976 Bucs can pop open another bottle of champagne...

Farken Bears...led 13-3 just before the half only to lose 20-13 in the end. And that's after intercepting Jackson 3 times. At 8-6 now the Vikes are in sole possession of number 6 seed in the NFC.

Looks like I'll be rooting for the 'Skins next week...provided we beat the Eagles first.

Anyone else in the final of their fantasy? Made it in even losing my number 3 (Larry Johnson), My best points gainer (Ronnie Brown). Also just lost Fargas too.

QB - Ben Roth                              K - Gostkowski
WR - TO                                      DEF - Seattle
WR - Andre Johnson
WR - Engram/Berrian/Curtis
RB - Adrian Peterson (Min)
RB - Kolby Smith
TE - Dallas Clark

Not sure who to pick at 3rd receiver, Also McNabb playing NO so could have good game. Leaning towards Curtis 'cos of Saints. Got Kevin Walter, Chester Taylor and Selvin Young too

Funny how Romo and Brady owners would've bombed last week
19 Dec 00:55 · edited 09 Sep 04:59
ya 3rd WR should be Marques Colston - AMAZING!

Doesn't anyone care anymore? It's crunch time now end of season playoffs coming up. Pats went perfect

Guess Saints out, Eagles out, Lions out so less interest. Still got your Steelers in, Barber, got Jaguars up first.

Any predictions for first round?

Jacksonville, San Diego, Seattle and...New York

is new england in the superbowl or do they need to do playoffs
01 Jan 05:25 · edited 09 Sep 04:59
Yep, I still care about my Saints, but I'm just too depressed to post anything about them...difficult to see Pats losing at all. The NFC won't put up a decent challenger, and I think the only possible danger to the Pats could be Pittsburgh or Jacksonville if they control possession well, but the Pats have just had this mojo about them the whole season that's just too difficult to ignore...
