Michael Clarke scored more on his own than our entire team.

Well maybe Sinclair would have done better.

I don't think we'll even make it to the end of today.

Three for me, and two for them.

I hope we pull an India from a few years ago and somehow win after being forced to follow on.

All we have to do is survive today, the weather forecast for tomorrow is sh*t.

Then again, we're capable of being bowled out in 15 minutes, so the rain may not be of much help.

Tomorrow is only Day 4 though EG. What about Day 5?

Three for me, and two for them.

I'm hoping for a downpour of epic proportion that will render the outfield unplayable on Day 5.

70/1

Bollinger to Watling, OUT, full and straight and Watling looks to play the ball square on the leg side but cannot get any bat on it. Huge appeal and umpire Gould has no hesitation in raising the finger. After discussion with McIntosh, Watling asks for the decision to be reviewed. Has it pitched in line with the leg stump......just. That's out

BJ Watling lbw b Bollinger 33 (105b 4x4 0x6) SR: 31.42

We need some rain

Been a frustrating couple of days at the Basin, highlight today was some great banter with Dougy and M Clarke and the slip cordon. Got called a w**ker by Doug Bollinger which will go down as a life highlight!

Thought MacIntosh and Waitling were wonderful, shame that BJ just missed a straight one. The rest of them were frustrating as usual, Guptill played a horrid shot. How Taylor was not given out straight away is mind boggling, it looked out at the ground and I wasn't sitting straight on.

Not sure where to go with changes, apparently Jesse hasn't played for Wellington? If he plays presumably it is for Ingram but then who bats 3? Or if Jesse isn't good to go is it a straight swap Sinclair for Ingram?

You can't play test match cricket if your front foot doesn't move. Especially against Australia. Ingram has to go.

I'd rather play with 10 tbh.

the reason we have so many players that come in and fail is because our first class competition is sh*t, the gap to test cricket is huge. you can't blame the selectors for giving any of them a chance [or chances] because the fact is that they are the best we have right now. williamson is scoring a lot of runs but that's not enough to say it's his time. the difference is he's young, they have to be careful not to expose him to early

Fuck this stupid game

This mob are a complete shower.  We need discipline.  Not moody Greatbatch.  Bring back Steve Rixon.

Actually I would maybe consider John Wright. Get some decent test batting quality.

Vettori and McCullum better f*cking take it to these sh*thole aussies and show the top 4(excluding MacIntosh)how to bat, also Ingram needs to learn how to move his f*cking feet. Hes f*cking useless, sorry about my swearing im just a bit p*ssed of with our Cricket team, sorry.

pretty angry expletive filled filled outburst from such a young chap, though yea our cricket team are good at making us feel like that

See I think the reason Tom can get that angry was that he wasn't alive/can't remember the mid-90s when things were worse than this.

For the rest of us (well me anyway) I remember those horrid days and therefore can keep the now in some kind of perspective.

my memory is sketchy, but when was the last time we didn't lose a wicket in a session?

Hope they can bat through.  We need to take this to 5 days.

Rapt to see a cricket thread.  I'm new to football but a looooooooong time cricket fan.  Great to have a forum to discuss the downs, ups and downs of NZC.

As a female fan I'm rather starved of good cricket conversation.  The gals won't go there and (most of) the guys tend to see it as an affront to their masculinity if I happen to hold a differing opinion on anything sport related.

Am sure none of you are like that though

Good to see a bit of stubborness from Vettori and McCullum.  First goal must be to get through to drinks, then looking to tea with them both still there.  Given where we were overnight I'd be pretty happy if we can take the game into tomorrow.  Hopefully Wellington will then do its bit with some of the wet stuff.

Feck.  It was me, shouldn't have mentioned drinks.  Or stubborness.  Or anything positive.

McCullum and Guptill partnership of 300 plus at Hamilton in Feb.  Not sure how many sessions, but probably a couple for that many.  Against Bangladesh though...
