Thinking about making a sign for the upcoming ODI in Queenstown saying:

Black Caps: Laughing stock of world cricket.
VAUGHN OUT. prove us wrong boys.

SMITH OUT.

Yeah might do this one. Will find some cardboard or use my dads football tactics board and update it through the day. Might do:
NZ Cricket = Laughing Stock of World Cricket.
or
We are the worst team in the world.
or
VAUGHN OUT
or
some football/YF related sign.

You won't get on TV with something like that. I suggest having a crack at Craig McMillan.

Better still, stand next to Sonny Shaw (He'll be there somewhere) with a sign saying  TWAT ----->

While this is a great idea, I would not advise anyone under the age of 16 go near him.

Tom, how about "Rojas for PM"? Certainly YF related and I think likely to make TV. Buffy had a stab at it but got let down by the staff at Seddon park and never got to show it.

Also, the whiteboard Idea is best because you can change it throughout the day. Write down any suggestions you get and have each one on the board for half an hour or so (the best ones for longer).

Do it.

Yeah its also whether dad is down from Welly with the whiteboard and whether he would even let me take it. Yeah probally will do "Rojas for P.M" then yellowfever.co.nz in small print down the bottom of the sign.

So if the price of the ticket is reletive to the qualitly of the opposition, how come the tickets are more expensive for this Pakistan series than they were for India and Australia? Correct me if I'm wrong but I'm sure people have said they paid less [than $33] for those games. Also were the prices of the tickets going to be more expensive before they found out half of Pakistan's best players wouldn't be touring here due to the ICC match fixing investigations?

Meh.  You can cover the costs if you bet a on a no ball being bowled between the 4th ball of the 15th over and the 2nd ball of the 16th over.

How's my driving? - Whine here

Plenty of dodgy Pakistanis trying to get on Basin to have a look at the pitch this week. No sign of any brown paper bags yet though.

It doesn't cost me anything but I just want to see good crowds in and people to be able to watch a test match at a fair price. NZC want bums on seats more than anyone but they can't see that people don't want to pay what they say is a fair price. The price isn't worth the product, bottom line.

Absolutely f**king crazy. I will only be attending one day of a test next year at the price it is now when I would love to attend 2 or more and had every intention of doing so before I found out what it costs.

If they pump the price up anymore I won't even be going to one day of it, and i'm sure I won't be the only one.

I love test cricket. Am starved of it.

Yet even I saw the price and went f**k that.

Surely that must tell them something. If massive test cricket fans decide to flag it because of the prices, then how do they expect to get the casual cricket fan along?

Next thing,a culture develops where absolutely nobody goes to test cricket.
I miss the days of a full embankment (Ive forgotten the word? )

Especially with an ODI 2 days later (well probably 4 days later, since the black caps seem to want the annoying test matches to be finished ASAP),people would rather pay $35 (guessing price) for the ODI than the same price to see 1/5th of a match or nearly triple the price to see one match.

They're out of their minds.

This is about pricing for the Test matches against Pakistan. I (and most of the NZ public) feel you are very out of touch with this issue.

Read here for just a couple of opinions (it goes pages back as well) http://www.yellowfever.co.nz/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=7376&PN=240

I am a test match lover, and have been starved of it. Yet even I saw the prices and was immediately put off attending.

If people who love this form of the game are put off by the prices, how do you expect the casual cricket fan to turn up?

I miss having a full basin reserve,it had a good atmosphere and is one of my greatest memories growing up.

But lately you guys have stuffed it up royally.

I really do hope you read this and take it on board for future series.

P.S I don't actually know who this email will reach (I just went to "contact us" on the NZC website),but if possible could this be forwarded on to someone who this would be relevent to.

Thanks,
Keegan

I suggest to all those who are effected by the inflated price of tickets to email NZC and let them know how you feel about it. That's the only way it will change:

PS. Maybe take a slightly different approach to Buffon II (no offence + your angst was warranted at the time)

Did you get a reply Buffy?

It's not just test cricket that is the problem. I went to go to a game of 20/20 between Canty and someone else and it was $20 an adult. Too much for a provincial match I reckon. One dayers are only a tenner.

emailed - I expect they'll say $25 isn't high, but add to that a $5.25 fee from tiketek, that stings.
