Eerily similar Day 1 to Hamilton.

Hopefully Young and Vettori kick on tomorrow, Southee shows some fight and we get to 350'ish.

I think if any one could find a legit reason to have him banned it would have been done long ago. I have another good sonny shaw story but will tell later.

Was talking to my boss this morning before play start and said that vettori, in tests, is an overrated bowler but our best batsman.

Am a minimum of 50% right :-)

Was this up at the Newtown end and did he (or one of the guys he was with) have a big Pakistan flag?
 
I only mention it because I got a rude "can you sit down" when I was waiting there too. I gave an angry stare and "alright calm down eh?" - your comeback was a bit better, but then I have no idea who this guy is?

Okay, the other Sonny Shaw story...I wasn't there but a mate [we'll call him John] of mine was at an ODI at AMI stadium where The Creep pushed in front of him at the food line..so John waits for The Creep to order his food then walks up to him and flips his tray of food in there air and it goes all over him. John then circles The Creep, jumping up and down chanting "RAPIST! RAPIST! RAPIST!".

Having seen the pictures, it wasn't actually him that spoke to me, but I see another YouTube video and it was definitely his mate...3 dickheads sitting in a stupid spot.

They sit there just to get on TV. He's notorious for it. Obviously it's exactly the same spot where crowds gather every second over. It's more important that he gets on TV though.

Interesting that ODI game is $27 which includes a $2 stadium levy, but excludes service/transaction fees.
So that is the same price as a test match.

Thats not to bad for the ODI, I seem to remember paying about 37 for the Aussie game last year.

Think you could make a strong argument that ODIs are more entertaining than test match cricket, yet there is no difference in price.

Spot on. The main difference is that you pay the same amount (or close enough to it) to see 1/5 off a match as you do to see a whole match and be guaranteed a result at the end of it.

NZ cricket needs to pull its head in.

Watched the highlights of the Aus game last night, and for all that you can say about Watson being a bit of a plank on occassions, that was a pretty special innings.
Gutted Vettori didn't get 5 also.

Not yet. If they come off soon they will go down again. Uncertain about when the rain will hit but it will sooner or later. Hopefully sooner.
