NZ Breakers - Fever Basketball Thread

I was just thinking that there goes Leggy, adding constructive insight as always.

No I am not but it's become worse under Vickerman.

I think it is partly personnel driven - Mika can go to work inside, Pledger is alright on occasion but apart from them the team has pretty much been built around slash-and-kick, transition three pointers - Bruton, Corletto, Wilkinson etc. It's how the NBA is heading, but you do need someone to draw the double team in order to make it effective.

The new point guard is nothing compared to Cedric Jackson imo 

He's not as good, but it's not like he's a massive downgrade either, Jackson was just a better fit for the offence. I still believe Johnson will be a very productive Breaker.

Adams rolled his ankle when on the verge of his 2nd career double double. Had 10 points, 9 rebounds and 2 blocked at the end of the 3rd.

Not gonna mention the Breakers.

They got fucked harder than a $20 whore. "They missed Pledger". My ass they did. Had he played it may have been closer such was the pathetic play of the Breakers but Adelaide went in with a good game plan and punished their largest weakness.

Yeah that was never going to be a very winnable game.

Breakers are in the middle of no man's land right now, with Wilkinson and Vukona they struggle to defend, and with Pledger and Vukona their interior offence is rubbish. Without turnovers and transition opportunities, it's hard for them, especially against a quality team like Adelaide.

Bobby Brennan would be ideal for this team about now. That's the type of player they need

The Breakers are on the brink of winning their 4th title in 5 years.  Game 2 is on now.  I think this is incredible.

No Finals for Steven Adams & OKC this season.

Haven't had any luck all season. Today just continued that.

Anyone else keeping an eye on the NBA finals? LBJ playing out of this world to keep Cleveland in the hunt. Don't think it will be enough though and the Warriors will take it.

Yeah man, watched as much of the finals as I could. LeBron put up some pretty crazy numbers. Shows you can't do it alone though eh. Good on Golden State. Quite cool to see a team like that come out and dominate the whole season really.

Yeah got the feeling that cavs ran out of gas in the end after consistently playing basically a 7 man rotation. In the end the Warriors were just a better team. Would have been far closer if cavs had love or irving. Happy to see the Warriors take it though.

Adams putting up some pretty solid numbers/minutes for OKC at the moment. Also seems to have seen off the challenge for his starting place by Kanter. They're flying under the radar a bit this season, but I think they're building quite nicely (if a little inconsistent) and could go deep in the playoffs.

And votyed the second dirtiest player in the league.  

Not really a BBall person myself, but sounds like NBA League Pass is free this week

Saints destroy Auckland's stupidly named Supercity Rangers!!! Enjoyed seeing Jackson playing for Saints, their whole lineup looking fantastic. Always a change with the Saints having a Wellington team that is consistently up there.

Found this, so impressive! He's quite the outlier! 

Apparently Adams was telling him that after Basketball he wanted to become a farmer and the other guy said back to him, "Here, have a couple of acres!!"

By the way, the scoreline right now is about as DVDA as it gets at that level of basketball.
