Anyone follow them, have made some good signings this year and are a genuine title contender.

Season tips off in a round about 50 seconds, against the Hawks.

I do a little - not a big fan of basketball and dont understand all of the rules, but I'll watch and follow the breakers and the rams.

Yeah, I went to a couple of games at the NSEC last season. Managed to schedule a weekend in Sydney when the Breakers are playing then as well (not intentionally, but I'll take it anyway).

Bruton was a great signing. Good to see Rickert back and fit. Will be interesting to see how the season pans out. 79-77 on Maori TV to the Breakers ATM, although the game probably has already finished in real time.Carol2008-09-18 21:36:58

Yeah Kirk Penney was really good, got 40something points. I kinda watch the Breakers if they're on and I remember, but the boys look really good this year, I think I'll make more of an effort. CJ Bruton has always been total class.

Yeah they have assembled a very good squad this year, with Bruton and Penney they have the best two guards in the league and some decent big men. Will be very dissapointing if they dont make the top 4 at least

New Zealand Breakers 120 (CJ Bruton 23, Oscar Forman 23, Tony Ronaldson 23, Kirk Penney 20)

Melbourne Tigers 111 (Chris Anstey 32, Ebi Ere 21, David Barlow 17).

Halftime: 59-58.

Good to see another win last night over the defending champs. I didn't watch it but the article said CJ Bruton was pretty much the best.

Well done!!  The game was shown on Maori TV.  Not sure if it was live or delayed.

Live.

I'm pretty sure it's delayed (well it definitely was last year). Real time tip-off was 7:30 at NSEC, whereas coverage starts at 8pm on Maori TV and tip-off is usually 8:15 on TV. Plus if you log onto the Breakers website the final score is often up before the TV coverage of the game has finished (my flatmate did that to me last year in a close game).

Pretty stupid as thats the only way for us out-of-towners to watch them. Surely they should put it live.

My guess is that Maori TV has live rights to it but just doesn't put it live. Stupid.

103-99 over Perth. That leaves them in second place on the ladder. Hopefully the Nix can do a similar thing to Perth.

watching the highlights of that game... looked as though Kirk Penny has been learning a trick or two from our covs. The Perth player was nowhere near him when he went over

Just tipped off in top-of-the-table clash with the Dragons. Anyone got a live score feed on the net. Radio Sport aren't doing it obviously and Maori TV don't show it till 8:15pm.

Pretty good second half last night, Jones lit up! hes a beautiful player to watch when he finds his range. Penney was quiet, Bruton stood up though which is good. Watching Kirk Penney, even last night when he just had a few good moments you realise he is quite easily the best player in this league, Bruton wouldn't be far off but Penney is a clear first for mind.

Is that Maori TV (which is FTA) or Maori TV Te Reo? (Sky only)?

Because I heard it was the latter, hence why the commentary is only in Maori.

I applaud Maori TV for picking up the Breakers matches, and I'm not going to get into whether only broadcasting this game in Te Reo is good or bad. But if they're dedicating to playing the matches free-to-air then putting their most important games on pay TV only without prior warning...way uncool.
