Tomkins would be pretty awesome to have, and since it would kinda be a waste of Locke's talent I'd also put him at 6. Having said that, I think Leuluai (I'll spell it right someday) has been very good for us defensively, and has arguably been better than Johnson so far so it's not just a case of getting rid of him.

Or conversely Locke to the wing and just drop Tupou :-). I'm not sure on Locke as a winger, but Locke Manu and Tomkins would be a lot better than Locke Manu and Tupou. Although yeah, how long does Manu have left as a winger? 2/3 years maybe? He's got front-row written all over him.

I can't say I will miss Friend. He always struck me as another Monty Betham, great for doing tons of tackles but offers nothing in attack. But I know a few people around here seem to rate him.
I don't disagree - just saying the club (as per Scurrah) has again handled things poorly.
Friend can definitely play a role - but we need two creative options between 6,7 & 9 where currently we have one. What happened to Harry Sejka (sp?) who was a Junior Kangaroo and supposedly has the goods... so many mixed messages with continued Mickey Mouse signings just shows the club seems to have no clear strategy moving forward. The more things change the more they stay the same.
