I have always wondered what it would take Sonny Bill to box on the league field. Figure if he was on Lances team in that game we would have found out. Really hope that guy gets his beans one day

Jarryd Hayne - wow!

A few AFL players have headed stateside (mainly to kick) but I've never heard of an NRL (or union) player crossing over - especially just to trial!.

Kangaroos get a favourable call in the last minute, what a surprise...

Get that patch off your eye. Was never a try.

Haven't seen it but plenty of people saying it was a try.

Some very interesting tweets from Eric Watson re Kieran Foran today. If he does eventually sign I would say he'd be the best ever Warriors signing.

Just seen the English try claim - definitely  not a try.

Yeah that isn't a try.

Incidentally why do so many players try to pat the ball dead instead of forcing it in goal? High risk.

Pretty gutted with that as an England fan. Would be easier to take getting smashed but against Australia and NZ we always seem to get so close, often leading at half time and still leading or still with a chance to win going into the last 10 minutes (often the last play) and always fall just short. Makes you keep going into each game with that little bit of hope that we're not that far behind them and maybe this time we might even do it. Had to score that try right on half time from the Tomkins break, should have been under the posts for a 14 point lead but butchered it. Then they would have needed 3 unanswered tries with at least 2 converted and it might have been enough to hold on. Pretty exciting game though.

Didn't think it was a try at the end but the more they showed the replay the more my biased view thought he might just have a finger on the ball as it touched the ground. Was hoping we'd make the final with it being in Wellington but guess there's still a slim chance.

Makes it a lot sweeter after the Aussies spouted that shite about not knowing anyone in the Kiwis team pre tournament.

Three for me, and two for them.

Ok, when was the last time that a Kiwi international team won 2 games against Australia in a row?

Must admit I have always questioned the selection of Taupau as he has never  impressed me during his time at the bull dogs and tigers. He however has been simply super this tournament. Great off loads, skillfull, tough and plays at a 1000 miles an hour.

So predictions for our season? I am thinking they will finish top 8 and finish in 7th. We still haven't really sorted out our midfield though and we are missing one really top forward to go all the way.

Thoughts?

Spot on I think. I don't believe we are a top 4 side yet. Think we will start of slowly over the first 10 rounds hovering in the lower half of thebtable and there will be rumblings. A solid mid season around origin and run in should take us into the top 8

Sounds like a typical Warriors season, start horribly -> title contenders -> choke/sneak into play offs

Think Hoffman and Thompson will provide what we have been missing from the pack.If we stay largely injury free im hoping for a top 4 spot.

I rate Hoffman but am far from impressed by the signing of Bodene Thompson. I rate Henry as a far superior player and would much prefer him getting the minutes

Thompson has apparently played pretty well in preseason and have heard a couple of experienced players rate his contribution.Think its really important they start well.If they have another bad start to the season the pressure will really go on.

Benn more of their inconsistent today. I thought the penalty on Leuluai on the try was just unlucky contact by the Newy lad

We were never going to win the first game.

Hoffman looked good and I thought Lolohea looked alright at fullback today. Johnson needs to step up big time
