We were never going to win the first game.

Hoffman looked good and I thought Lolohea looked alright at fullback today. Johnson needs to step up big time

So much this, sick of Johnson being mostly a flat track bully.Way past time he started showing his stuff from the start.

some good defence there in the 2nd half

Yes good to get a win, But I can't help but notice we lack talent in our backline. Lolohea and Wright just don't appeal, Wouldn't it be nice to have a Jennings or a Dylan Walker in there. I would even take a James Roberts from the GC.

Just doesn't look right, think we will be hoping for that 8th spot again

Warrior winning, Manly losing. All good indeed.

Little Sammy T traded in for RTS.

I like it - though the team still has some serious weaknesses (most notably a classy centre, a ball playing 2nd rower and a dominant leader).

replacing the full back is not going to end the errors of our key play makers. The warrors need to sure up the centre pairing - Hurrell seems like he may have been brought back in too soon. Plus they need to invest in a decent halves pairing, Johnson is very good, but he needs a partner as a 6 who can be equally dangerous.

Need to put Leulai back into the halves to sure things back up. What ever happened to Pita Godinet?

Talking about this with the old girl last night. Fullback wont fix the problems. The ability to finish sets of 6 is the most glaring weakness of this team. I also think, such as theprof mentioned, that they need a better standoff. He does not need to be a competition leading standoff but if you allow Johnson free reign to be hero or zero, you need a very consistent 6 beside him. Townsend is consistent but at towards the bottom end of consistent. They just need someone that little bit better across the board.

Things just aren't right in the Warriors

No, they're not. Not by a long shot - the club needs an overhaul, hopefully that's what Jim Doyle is doing... getting rid of Dean Bell and having a quality recruitment manager based in Sydney is a start.

Ironically, every time I catch a plane to Auckland to watch the Nix, Stacey Jones is on the flight either travelling up to Auckland or on the return coming down to Wellington.

Doyle is a sharp operator and has track record in the game of getting results. I back him to get things in order. Admittedly, I am not sad to see Bell go cause I thought his recruitment was ordinary

So much this,is ironic that one of his last recruits could be very important for the warriors future Tuivasa-Sheck.Some of his signings have been very ordinary. They suffer from the same problem as us  in that mediocrity seems acceptable.

Interesting call. Can flat out play. It would be the end for Townsend as Leuluai would move to stand off. Only thing for me is the discipline of Luke. He can do some mental things.

He can, though at his age and with his upside it's a no brainer (pun intended).

...and as I type, it's confirmed (by Jim Doyle).

Very good pick up. They will have a lot of talent on the park for next season, just worried about the talent up in the coaches box.

Oh I can't see McFadden staying much longer. Doyle is a smart guy and he will have Kearney lined up
