Supporting either side, especially if you haven't done any research on it and are just being led by the media, is ridiculous.

So much this.

I really, really, really, like Rosemary Macleod.

Not sure about this though.

"but in vino veritas, as the Romans put it - as in, when off your face your true nature comes out".

No it doesn't. I'm with Steven Peters and Freud on this, drugs and alcohol as with anger, stress, hurt etc allow the emotional, Id, "chimp" side of the brain to rule over the rationale ego "human" side of the brain. Its not the whole you - just an aspect of you.

That's why you make bad decisions when you are drunk as they "fight/flight" primitive part of the brain is at work not the rationale side.

Another celebrity pairing that were legends in their own minds. It seems the more brainless you are, the richer and more famous you become in New Zealand. Sam Morgan being the exception I guess and Sir Peter Jackson.

Marc Ellis maybe many things but brainless is certainly not one of them. You don't build an incredibly successful business without having some game.

I don't mind Ellis and I don't think you can compare him to ridge. They did a TV show together which rated, that is about it.

As usual boys, here is Rosemary to edumacate you: http://www.stuff.co.nz/sunday-star-times/columnist...

Now how's this for a James Burke connections moment?  In that linked article there is this - "In the same interview she explained that her immune system had been depleted after a spider bit her in Japan. I did not make that up."

I was listening to Kim Hill this morning talking to Kristen Hersh and she referenced the Flaming Lips song "spiderbite"

Freaky huh?

Not sure about touching your inner self LG, but if you are getting all weak and tearful about that certain man in your life then here's something for you from all the way back in 1975. LG would have been a handsome young whippersnapper with flairs and big collars....

Gently puts needle on record...

GREAT I CAN'T ACCESS YOUTUBE FROM WORK SO FOR ALL YOU LONELY LADIES AND GENTLEMEN HERE ARE THEY LYRICS....

Feelings, nothing more than feelings,
trying to forget my feelings of love.
Teardrops rolling down on my face,
trying to forget my feelings of love.

Feelings, for all my life I'll feel it.
I wish I've never met you, girl; you'll never come again.

  Feelings, wo-o-o feelings,
wo-o-o, feel you again in my arms.

Feelings, feelings like I've never lost you
and feelings like I've never have you again in my heart.

Feelings, for all my life I'll feel it.
I wish I've never met you, girl; you'll never come again.

Feelings, feelings like I've never lost you
and feelings like I've never have you again in my life.

  Feelings, wo-o-o feelings,
wo-o-o, feelings again in my arms.
  Feelings...(repeat & fade)

Actually I bet this is what LG looked like in the 70's. He would have broke a few hearts.

NZ Political Parties.

A bunch of wallies all of them.  Just saw Christine Rankine on the Paul Henry show - completely vacuous and she's probably a lot smarter than Colin Craig.

Yes, it is the Kissing Babies time again and of course making promises you know you wont keep. Then there's the usual "It's not our fault, I blame the Government from 20 years ago" routine.

And Politicians wonder why they rank down towards the bottom of the popularity barrel along with insurance agents, real estate agents, Car Salesmen.

Our real estate guy was lovely and helped us a lot.

I think that you will find that they dont rank very high generally. They may well be nice people but I think it is the occupation that hurts their reputation. How much percentage for showing someone around your home?

Our bloke, retired now, advised us on all manner of things and as a qualified ex-sparky was well know to help out folk with their electrical problems cheaper than most. Basically he was always around even if he's sold you a home. I guess you've got to look beyond the job sometimes and look at the person.

Haha can't even cook a microwave meal bro?! Classic :)

Just leave what's stuck on the inside. I think it's like a bbq and just adds to the flavour of the next meal.

Haha, I would if it was my microwave but it was one at work and there were people who saw it. Cleaning the microwave seemed like less hassle than eliminating the witnesses and cleaning up that mess.

I double microwaved my heat n' eat tuna meal last week and it exploded. I just left it for someone else to deal with.

Even worse when the people who get there before you don't go and get any, then after you do they're in there pretty quickly to make themselves a coffee.

Luckily for us our cleaner does ours. Our milk supply is a three minute walk to and from and it's free. We added it to the apprentice's list of tasks, along with keeping the beer stocks full. He's a slow learner though
