Mohammed, on the left, I'm still in touch with. He's now living in Agadez, Niger. More focused on his animals now as tourism has dried up. Is active with a co-op promoting local goods, leather work and bijouterie, into Europe.

I hope you give him a collar with a bell and keep him inside at night.

i got his email address off a journalist and emailed him asking if he could sign the shirt for me, he said yes and i paid the postage both ways took a couple of weeks to arrive back signed on the number.
one of my phoenix shirts took me all of this season to catch up with all the players before or after games,
another tony p got all the players to sign for me, and the last 2 someone in wellington got the players to sign for me.

Finding out that the Challenge Cup final is on at Wembley the day after I arrive in London in August and then securing a ticket. Really just hope it doesn't clash with an Arsenal home game. Still, once in a lifetime opportunity.

John at the Barbershop trying it on with knocking $2 off the price of a fucking immense haircut  cuse I've known him for a few years.

John I looked like a f&cking Yeti, it was 6 weeks since my last haircut.  You should charge me the proper price.

It is the best Barbers in the world, go there if you need a bit of man time just to chill out and have a laugh. Very laid back and very, very good haircuts.

The courier & Mighty Ape!!

The courier was about to deliver a Bluray DVD (The man with no name trilogy) at my place, found the case was broken, rang Mighty Ape whom in turn rang me and asked if I would like it replaced free of charge. Which I did. Such honest and courteous service is rare and deserves full recognition. Thanks heaps Mr Courier Driver and thanks too, Mighty Ape. Awesome service.

Fishing - first time in well over a year (end of 2011/12 season I think - whenever the last post in the fishing fred was).

A good haul of spotties from Jnr Jnr and Jnrette.  Some returned, some had to given to the waiting gulls

On a still, fine day with the fish biting it is quite enjoyable.  But most of my time is spent baiting up, freeing the hooks from snags, getting fish off the hooks or replacing lost hooks.

Kids enjoy it though.

Main highlight a while back was at Oriental Parade and Pasty turns up with little Pasty in a buggy.  Kids noticed him as I was busy baiting up or some such, so they went over first and had a good chat with the man.

Did you happen to mention to him that the kids were catching more than he ever did and that he would probably attempt to punch the fish away?

Just posted a pic of a 1970s football shirt and of course thought about junior footy back in the day:  Cotton shirts and leather balls and boots.  Lots of dubbin.  Gear was just about dried out by the time of the next game a week later.

These days the kit is dry about 10 mins after being washed. Fantastic.

Nice work Footpaul.

The use of the words “today”, “tomorrow” and “special day” are among words the Chinese government is censoring on popular microblogging website Sina Weibo, the Guardianreports.

Why? It is 24 years since the so-called “June 4 incident” - the violent Government crackdown of the Tiananmen Square pro-democracy demonstrations. The Chinese Government’s efforts to shut down online discussion of the incident are being thwarted by Weibo users, who are posting images referencing the Tiananmen Square killings, including photoshopped versions of the famous image of a man standing down tanks on Beijing’s Cangan Boulevard, such as the image above (since removed from Weibo).

In response, the term “big yellow duck” has also been banned.

My friend Karl says...

I've had about 57 hours of tattooing, including my rib cage, and I have endured the pain of 11-hour ultramarathons run over mountains, and last year I fractured my spine in 2 places...but stepping on an up-turned 3-pin plug with bare feet still has to be just about the most painful thing a human can suffer! Ouch!
