Maybe I should stop drinking and go to bed...

I know saying "I like golf" on yellowfever is equivalent to saying "I voted national" or "I wish there was more golf and less football on Sky" or that "I'm a farmer rugby-head", but the Ryder Cup is this weekend.

I love it.

Go the Euros.

Love it too, one of my favouritie events. FIFA 15 out and the Ryder Cup in the same weekend, not to mention the EPL. See you on Monday world!

What grade pennants did you play C-Diddy?

Permalink Permalink

Played Championship 3 Pennants (3rd Div).

Our top 2 teams are bloody strong so not likely to get a call up for either of those sides next year

I played some Div 1 pennants for Levin (Manawatu-Wanganui) this year.  Played number 8.  Pleasing.  Won five, lost 1.  Killer loss though.  Playing at Palmerston North G.C.  At his home club.  Playing the club champ.  Was 1-up with 3 to play.  Choked.   Finished 1-down.  Had a eight footer to halve it on the 18th.  Was dead centre...until the final 12 inches...how it missed...it still haunts me.

So the form that has eluded me for most of the winter is slowly returning, however it has arrived at the same time my handicap has blown out to 9.

Good news for me though as it means if I score well I will be taking some of the Pro's money off him in the Saturday Competition.

Silver Linings!

Next challenge is to drop the Handicap back down to 7 or better by the start of Pennants next year...

Pricey, but gonna buy these...what a product:

Unbelievably cumfy.  And I think you'd agree - they look absolutely awesome as well.

Really impressed with these too.

Superb.  As a 'feel' player - a good grip is everything to me.

I'm going to pay around $280NZD LG...golf is no cheap sport, dude...in fact, it's arguably the biggest rip-off known to man...was gonna buy a pair of dryjoy tours for around $200NZD:

But after slipping on the DNAs/slippers - there was no comparison...I just have to have them.

Other equipment news...bought this earlier in the year, a Taylormade Ghost Spider S model:

She's not fool proof...but it takes a lot of yip out of the stroke.

I have no fidelity when it comes to putters and will quickly ditch anything that starts misbehaving...but she's had some moments - so she stays in the bag.

I could never go back to a conventional blade putter now.

Those shoes will be worth the investment. Your feet will be a lot happier after 18 holes.

They didn't have the blue model...so I had to get the greens:

Pretty radical...I'm a traditionalist...but still...I love them.

****, just tested the Taylormade R15 (white head) driver...it's not even out yet...demo club at a computer golf screen testing room...maybe full of ####, but all of a sudden I was launching it like BMW (aka Rory, the ultimate driving machine)...maybe it was the shaft (it was stiff - but with a bit of whip - felt awesome)...gezz, don't wanna spend more $$$$$$$$$ on golf gear...but this is very tempting...and I'm also a complete gullible schmuck when it comes to golfing products.

The summer assault starts this week. Have not swung a club for around 3 weeks now so feeling like im overdue a round.

Have until the end of January to be match fit for the first of 3 challenges this summer. The 54 Hole Hastings Open.

This will be followed by fine tuning for Pennant season and Club Champs both starting in March/April.

Bring it On!!!

The only course I've played in Auckland is Whitford Park.  Years ago.  From what I can remember, it was a very good golf course, swanky (tennis courts, swimming pools etc), and a dickhead for a barman.

My home club, Hastings.

Final round this morning. Shot 83 and 80 yesterday. Body feeling a little stiff but looking forward to the challenge.

Shot a disappointing 85 in the last round. Had two brain farts which both ended in triple bogeys.

Could not buy a putt all weekend either.
