The trouble is - when?
There is heavy rain forecast from midnight to the morning.

I would bet Alasdair Thompson's left testicle that most games will be cancelled.  A fair bit of moisture midweek and heavy rain overnight and in the morning will have WCC running for non-existent cover.

The one advantage for us at Nairnville will be that all the rain will disguise any widdling on the pitch and it will be too wet for the kiddies to light up a fag (the drug not the homophobic reference to someone of a certain sexual persuasion).

I can see the Dim Posts front page now after they mis-read your post: "Underage football thugs threaten to immolate local homosexuals"

Except his name is Junior82 and I'm sure I've heard him about coaching kids. So i'm guessing he means the artificial at Nairnville.

Sources at Capital football say it's 'very ugly' how few grounds they have this week.

Oh right didn't know that, well done that man.  anyway the fields #1 and 2 were a mess when we left last week not sure they're fit for footy for the next couple of weeks (imo)

Why cant we play, I dont mind a bit of mud and water on the pitch, it slows everyone down to my pace (a slow shuffle). Heck thats why we play in winter.

Probably be a wise move to cancel most games this weekend, let the pitches have a breather and then by next weekend they can confirm the full operation of wakefield, along with te whaea should allow for a fair whack of games to be caught up.

It does to much damage to the pitches when they're as wet as they are. Last week a ref called off a capital 1 game because the pitch was unsafe to play on. If you over-use the pitches they'll all be unsafe to play on in a couple weeks. I'm sure no one is complaining about a bit of mud.

Fuck this stupid game

Bet capital football has been fielding many calls from angry parents today "its sunny and you're not letting my child play? Hes upset, I want you to explain to him why he cant play on this perfectly sunny day"

Fun fun.

Allegedly

Fun fun.

Feel for them when they have a week of rain and then you get a sunny sat! It makes it harder to understand for some why it has been cancelled.

Actually, I think many 6 yr olds would have no trouble with the concept if explained. I'll give their parents credit and suggest very few would have phoned in, despite it being a sunny saturday.

Gotta say i understand that C/Football want to play football on half descent grounds opposed to just ruin them and play on paddocks but question............how is it they cancel the majority of grades on Saturday when the grounds were average and it was sunny and fine yet play the Womens Central League on Sunday in the rain and wind and averge grounds?
It just doesn't seem to make any sense, they should have just played the Women on Saturday?
And we know the answer.....becuase Central League is more important......but are they?.....they pay subs we pay subs what exactly is the difference?

thats pretty much a whole lot of stupid. Changing the day of a game the night before is a ridiculous proposition. And yes Womens Central Lge is more important that whatever you play.

For what its worth im sure theres many women central leaguers who have their subs paid for by their respective clubs as theyre likely seen as more important than most of the men scattered throughout the capital grades. If a club had to choose between scrapping a WCL squad and an average joe Cap 10 or whatever squad, im sure 100% or clubs would keep the WCL squad without a second thought. I know i would.
