The keeper I'm filling in for had decent knee surgery and has only missed two games so far. He's probably gonna be fit and ready for next weekend too. Lucky for some I guess. Toffeeman2008-08-01 13:21:33

Hi All,

It is with regret that I am informing you that tomorrows King Toyota Super 6s Grand Finals Day is to be postponed due to ground conditions.

While we have had some good weather this week it has not been enough to dry out the grounds at Petone enough for them to handle the workload we had drawn for them. Fingers crossed that another week of better weather and good drying conditions they shape up well for next weekend.

The plan now is that we will hold all finals next Saturday (6th September).  This will include all four 11th Grade finals and the 12th & 13th Grade Plate finals as well as all the finals that were scheduled for tomorrow.

We have been able to secure Richard Prouse (Wainui) for next weekend so we will have the option of eight senior grounds to call on if needed.  Our original plan of all games being played at Petone (and Sladden) is still our first option but now have the ability to move games to Richard Prouse if needed.

We also have a last chance to play all our finals on Sunday 7th September. This will be do or die so we could be playing rain hail or snow (within reason of course).

Can we please ask that clubs do not stack teams this weekend with players from teams that should have been playing in finals tomorrow.   These players will get there chance next weekend and we would not like so see players missing out on a game this weekend for the sake of better players getting an extra game.

Regards

Jamie Cross

you'd be gutted if your last game was a default:

http://www.soccer.org.nz/index.php?page=snr_cancell

so if people whinge about not being able to play and then the day dawns fine and they default- i don't want to hear it- Div 8 is still good though!

Anyone know why random games from each grade have been cancelled? Is it because both teams have agreed to it?

Think it's because of grounds.

Rather than juggling to keep whole leagues being played they have just pulled matches.
