BNU coaching team going to extreme lengths to try raise fund for their four competitive men's and women's teams

I'm positive things will go wrong.

Levi McFarlane has left Wharfies.....will the dude from Team Wellington return there (Villa?) if no, they may struggle to maintain their dominance.

I'm always wary of things like that. Will the money be going to paying their first team? Or for more legitimate purposes?

some interesting results today especially between the "ministry of works karori "and the "johnsonville masons" on karori number one.

As it would seem the wind had a effect that some may say would reflect the final score .

but i feel it was more a case of a game of two half's and that there may be some soul searching on the performance from both teams playing squads and on decisions and tactics applied by the brains trusts of both teams.

but i must say the large supporter base at the ground got a entertaining game though i was largely distracted by the game on number two for most of the second half as a game of great tension unfolded with a great finish and result for the young NW second team over a well organised Karori 3rd team.

the next couple of weeks i hope see's a close comp unfold for that central league berth.

It's to pay for their subs

Yes BNU 1st team players are expected to pay subs like the rest of the club

How many other teams in Cap Prem are expected to pay subs ?

BNU does not pay players to play football - it's a club policy

you used to have to pay extra for that sort of attention on Vivian St back in the day…

and just think he will be able to tell his kids(if still capable after this special attention) that he had a ex all white ride him in a quick three way sandwich…and he has photos to prove it… ;-)

Wests Reserves beat BNU 3-2 after trailing 0-2. Fergie time 3rd (pen) from Wests sealed it.

Ernie Merrick spoke at a Mainland awards event a couple of years ago and described Siggy as a "panelbeater" by trade! It was his job to put the dents in the opposition. He was obviously very good at it. It's amazing how a shot like that has foul written all over it yet all the ref sees is the effort and determination on the defenders face as he's almost saying "watch me ref" and that's exactly what the ref does. Completely missing the shove in the back of the striker a split second before plus the elbow in the ear to remind you you've been had. All top class defenders have that ability to sell the challenge to the ref as fair, the commonsense to restrict the activity to certain parts of the pitch and the wherewithal to pay the odd fine :)

Maybe I am just getting really old but are the Wharf playing 12 year olds?

The two upper Hutt lads in the pic Davey and Daws have a combined age of about 75.That Karori kid looks old compared to the Phoenix youth and Wests lads.

watching the vid of the Karori game - shocking elbow to the head to knock a Karori player unconscious. Tawa's number 5 needs a chill pill.

https://instagram.com/p/BS3Ui3xBJcm/

where Tawa players successfully bully the ref into changing his decision to award a goal it is actually onside.

was at Lower Hutt v North Wellington today

Lower Hutt very well organised defence, good at stopping the oppositions flow, don't create much up front though

North Wellington were pretty bad, numerous passes straight to the opposition or in to space where no NW players running into

ended 0-0 neither team really deserved a win

Lower Hutt have yet to concede a goal this season

stinker second half from Wharf. Enjoyable to watch (apart from when we faded later in game). Thought the ref Gibson was decent. Wests took their chances well

If TAB are looking at setting good odds, they should look at this league

Starting the day bottom, UH beat 2nd placed LH, who hadnt conceded this season, 3-0

Now bottom, Tawa's only point came from top place Petone

Wests, who lost 5-1 on Friday, come back to beat the Wharf 4-2

And scoreless on Friday, NW knock in 6 today

Upper Hutt 2 North Wellington 0.

Hard earned result with goals from Jeremy Fong. The first a result of some lovely build up play, the second following a defensive blunder. No Sigmund for NW.  Upper Hutt missing 7 or 8 from their squad giving debuts to three players and first up starts for 3 more. Gutsy effort.

Some nice football at times from NW and a couple of good saves from UH keeper but end of the day chances taken are what counts.

Cap Prem very tight this year and any team capable of beating any other on their day.

Does it f*ck anyone else off that brand names crowd out the actual club name?

I vaguely watched Wharfies BNU. It was shark. Wharfies battered a bit black/red bus that BNU parked in front of their 6 yard box. Parking was wonky though and it was always going to be a win for Integration Works FC.

Yes. Makes it hard to read a table or quickly scan for games to go to if you have to click into the fixture of every second game to see who is actually playing.
