Lets be honest - Olympic should be in the Prems, and Naenae should be in Capital 1

Results seem to pretty clearly indicate this already

Whilst I do agree with your comments  I would just say that is still too early to call it....we have another 12 odd games to go and you never know what's around the corner....Hopefully the boys will keep going the way they have so far... (and I have to say that they have been playing some great football...) and win the title outright... they are a bunch of young guys enjoying their footy and scoring some great goals...hopefully they will be rewarded at the end of the season....

Haven't had an update, just on Saturday night from his brother who also plays for the club.  He was still in the fractures ward late evening.

I might be in goal at this rate.

So are there any healthy keepers at the club?

- One first team one isn't yet back from injury, the other has a broken leg.
- Second team keepers are okay, although one played right back for us on Saturday as I had him lined up to keep for us but we found another option.
- Hypocrites keeper is just back from injury.
- As far as I know the Speights are fine.
- We've got one out with a knee and one retired.  Huge game by stand in nzcopley though means he may never be allowed out of goal again.
- Masters just broke a second one on Saturday, and last years masters keeper is having a season off.

So that is 3.5 keepers in 6 mens sides.  We started the season with as many as eleven.

As long as people accept you will biff at least one in a game and they know they need to score a couple to win you're fine.

I heard we're putting the biggest person at the club that we can find in goal.

Hard Luck News.

I've seen News keep - you'd be better off without a keeper.

Olympic's dominant attack (43 goals from 7 games) meets WU's dominant defence (6 against from 7 games) at Wakefield (2) this week, possibly the first real test for each. The other interesting factor about this game is both club's first team's are playing on the Sunday

what a load of bollox!

olympic are miles ahead annihilating everyone. united are second by the skin of their teeth.
and when/if olympic beats WU on Sunday the oranje will most likely finish the first round 4th or 5th (and with North Welly also having a game in hand).

easy on, all i'm referring to is those two stats - Olympic goals for, WU goals against. aside from that the two aren't comparable but if there is one thing point of interest, that's it.

ok, have teams not struggled to score against United this year? i'm suggesting they might test Olympic more than other teams have, is that not a fair statement?

i didn't play that game so can't comment but conceding less than a goal a game speaks for itself. olympic are miles ahead for a good reason but we're backing our defence to put up a decent fight. no secret that we need to score more goals though.

I cant wait to see Olympic play diamonds best defense v best attack(by miles). If diamonds play at there best for the whole game it will be a cracker !

Funny, because i thought BNU shouldve bagged about 3 or 4, squandering them all only at their own inability to finish. Maybe you guys have picked it up since then though

From what i watched against north wellington. North wellington had about 2-3 decent chances in the game other than that united were very solid at the back. There were large patches where north wellington watched some great football played by united. United will have to play at that level for the whole game to compete with olympic. If they can do that they have a decent shot at beating them. that is an IF. Consistency  is what they are lacking and it seems olympic is full of it.

best of luck for united !

Ye in all honesty, Wellington United I dont think stand a chance against Olympic.
But you never know, my advice to united is to sit back and play for the draw and try frustrate Olympic, because its a fight for 2nd place.
Looks like any team can grab that 2nd place spot to be honest, even those that dont train...

well mate, we didn't score all our chances that day either. i'm not saying teams aren't creating chances but our back four have been hard to break. to be honest i think we're yet to reach our potential but we have improved from game to game and a lot since that first game we lost to wainui

Thought Olympic were class last weekend agaismst a good Miramar team. at 2-1 to greeks could have gone either way but they kicked on and ran away with it in th end. Enjoyed the game.
