Maybe just maybe  Norf Welly is secretly a feeder club for SO.......

Is this why the cap footy / SO chair is hell bent on twisting regs to keep Norf up ?

Q. Is appointed board member Phil Barry a stop out member?

No not a canton puppet.

Just someone that is sick of you slacking off someone who is actually trying to do something for football in Wellington.

Leithal you talk a good game but at the end of the day as usual it's just hot air.

How about actually doing something for your club instead of slacking it and the people running it off.

Otherwise just jog on.

Justin...

Just because I am not on the committee doesn’t mean I haven't done more than my fair share for the club when I can.

I think you should get your facts right before you tell me to "put my money where my mouth is"

Sorry if I don’t do the laundry and fill the water bottles up every Saturday which I will say you do a good job of and I praise you for that.

I manage a social team every year and spend alot of my own time organising that. I am a Stop out supporters club member which I pay my own money into an account weekly. We meet monthly and discuss Club matters on how we can support and help improve the club with the money we are contributing. I have helped organised sponsorship deals and fundraising at the club over the years including boxing events at the clubrooms which you worked at behind the bar. Again I praise you for that. I’m sure I can list many more things I have been involved in over the years however I don't ask and never have asked for any recognition for this involvement as I do it for the love of the club. I love stop out and have been there for 22 years with out ever leaving and don’t intend on leaving anytime soon.

You make canton sound like a saint. He is the president of the club and does do the odd good thing from time to time but he does more bad than good and has a bad habit of taking the glory for other committee members hard work down there. I have every right to criticise him and voice my own opinion.

I have a few questions for you since you know all

How many people have left the stop out committee over the last few years because of canton ?

How much of the clubs money has he spent and wasted trying to get us back into central league?

What is he trying to do that’s good for Wellington football? Change the rules retrospectively? I seriously question the mans integrity when he does outrageous things like that.

Also to make it plain and clear I am having a go at canton and canton only. I am not bagging the club as a whole so leave them out of it and don't twist my words. There are some excellent committee members and members at stop out and they are hard working and fantastic people.

What would you know about the running of a club leithal? You don't have anything to do with the running of that club, you are only part of the cancer trying to ruin everything that they do well there.....

well paolo i think 22 years with a club gives this man a good standing of knowing what makes a club tick and maybe the cancer you talk of is not what you have been told…..
it is easy to listen to people talk of doing great things then there is actually doing it and football today has too many talkers who complain that the reason there plans don't work is because of the cancer of the old guard but perhaps it is because they are full of words and ideas that don't work……
and the old guard is trying to tell them how it dose work as they have done it but now want new blood to take helm but not rebuild the ship while at sea as this will make the ship go down eventually….
but the new people know better as they follow best business practice and other key slogans they know and preach.
just an opinion seeing our president seems to have the same effect as Mr Canton is having and they seem to be best of mates…..

Maybe you should take this conversation to a "Stop out" thread . This one is headed Capital 1. Good internal bickering though.

Great selfie Leithal.

Anyway  as previously stated this is a Capital 1 thread and not a Stop Out  or I hate Canton thread.

So let's get back to the football. Who are the teams to watch this year in Capital One.

How are the Capital 1 teams doing in Hilton ?

The 3 teams down from Cap Prem will be tough I imagine (Marist / Wainui / Welly Utd).

karori 2nds finished 2nd and couldn't get promoted , so I imagine they will be strong again.

The other teams left from Cap 1 were only seperated by 4 points last year.

It will probably be a tight league again.

Wouldnt read too much into Hilton Petone results

Depends who stays/leaves the teams who have come down from prem. I think Marist will be the stronger of the three.

Wellington United reserve team was much stronger in prems than it ever was below that just because being in prems attracted a few better players and the club recognised the importance of having a decent coach in that league. I know the coach isn't there this season but I have no idea what players are around.

Who (ever) really knows what Wainui will bring to the table. They are always up and down anyway.

Fuck this stupid game

BREAKING NEWS: CF has just announced that in order to be fair to everyone, Cap 1 to Cap 5 will be played as one division this winter, and there will be conferences similar to those used in other sports. There will be a Karori conference, a Kapi-Mana one, another for Airport-Newtown-Berhampore-Rongotai, two or three for the Hutt Valley, two for the Rapa, one for Eastbourne and a special one for Johnsonville. Teams to play only among their own conference to ensure the success of the CF motto: "Everyone's a winner".

Well done LR.   I think you have summed up the whole situation very succinctly.

Don't forget the participation awards as well.

May 31 and June 2 games. Awesome, 1 day rest between games.
Bunch of fkn muppets at CF.
With no cancellations season ends 23 August at the earliest.
All this to accommodate a team who doesn't belong in cap1.
Rawr I'm fkn spewing!!

So much motivation to spank NW!

I'd say NW will continue to state they played no part in this when they clearly had their finger in the pie.

Capital Footy are clearly are not listening to their members and sticking to their own agenda. An agenda that is so far wrong on many fronts it's not funny. And we clubs pay this lot to make these political back scratching decisions. Let's see what NZF have to say about it !

CF chair says NW has played no part in this  so it must be so….?

Miramar Cap 1 away at Kilbirnie Park  5/4/14

Then home at DF to Naenae  13/4/14 - before off to Wainui. 18/4/14

Has it been a while since the last Naenae team played at DF?

Four seasons ago is the last time I remember.....was a poor showing with 1 bencher refusing to take the field. That season is 1 we would like to forget.

I think we played at DF the season after that as well in the Chatham Cup? Was a good thrashing from a top Miramar side if I remember... :/

Answer me this.......

How possibly can Cap1 and lower divisions commence their seasons on the 5th of April if the current Cap1 appeal with NZF has not been ruled on by then?

The NZF appeals committee have not yet met regarding the current appeal and CF are yet to make their submissions on it.

Permalink Permalink

That is simple,  They will wait till the season starts then turn around and say too late to make changes to draw.

Permalink Permalink

Bet the board now wish they listened to the 10 clubs against an 11 team league. Instead they bought into hours of meetings, email, phone calls, letters and controversy. All for one club ! Astounding ! Outrageous ! ....and blind.

It would appear that even some Capital Football staff think it is a joke.

Permalink Permalink

Another appeal?  What good can come of this? The Capital football board ignored the ruling on the first one and simply changed the rules retrospectively.  What's to say they won't just do that again?

Permalink Permalink

i think Shady1 has a handle on the idea that will prevail……

NZF know when the season starts so it should of been sorted by now

IBU Reserves lost 2-1 to the Wharfies Reserves at Karori Park. Good clean even game I thought. One team took their chances the other didn't.
