from what I saw BNU didn't play a lot of football, humped it long and looked to counter/ capitalise on second phase. Were effective though.

Apology to Nomad. I am told that Karori No 3 is 70m wide, not 74m. That makes it average, not wide or narrow.

The Last Nomad (BNU keeper) says Karori No 3 is narrow. The Wandering Gloveman needs to go to Specsavers. The three fields at KP are all approx 74 metres wide.

Compare this with Farrington 67m, Wakefield 1+2 70m, Kilbirnie 70m, Newtown 66m, Redwood 70m, Kelburn 60m, Wembley 69m, Old Moyes 68m, Stamford Jose 67m, Anfield 68m, A-League (all parks) 68m. Sorry...no size known for Memorial or Maidstone.

The Nomad also said K3 was wet. True, but it had rained a bucketful and K3 was less wet than either K1 or K2.

great info Loftus road but could you tell me what the size of the alexmore middle field (know as AM1) is going to be now after the alterations as the council seems to not know after saying it would stay the same size and now i hear it is going to be a junior field…..
seems you know your fields so thats why i am asking….

good sportsmanship and fair playing field is all we ask for

but all we get is talk and goal posts moving

I'm sure the CF board will amend the regs to allow for the field size if asked.

The CF Board can do what they like as they have shown just recently but the club players who might miss out on playing on there traditional home ground are the ones i am concerned about as it seems promise's keep getting broken or do we just call these promise's lies?

How about the length - its not many fields I can kick to the other keeper with one bounce.
Or maybe it has to do with the height of Karori park - can we take atmospheric pressure into account in regards to distance and aerobic performance?! So many things for us to document!

Karori No 3 is listed as 96m long. Nos 1 and 2 are 102m. A common length is 100m (rugby length) or 102m. Loftus Road is 102x66m.

The new rugby/soccer field at Alex Moore Park appears to be 100m long by 70m or 72m wide. It is nearly ready for play. Also has some nice terraced sitting places at halfway.

5-0 to Wharfies against Vic Uni at the Kelburn Park farm. Grass was so long it was a joke. Everything clicked by the looks of things for Wharf. Very few mistakes. Clinical up top

olympic 1 NW 0

some thought NW fitness was going to get them the draw but in the words of the ex president of NW who watched the match "they did not make the most of there opportunities and olympic showed them how a defence with some experience works "

next week we have the infamous bye…..

Wow. How do you confuse Island Bay with the Greeks?!  I'm suitably offended!

But not too bovvered as we got the three points.  Great grind today, years gone past we would've drawn/lost that one, so glad the lads held out.  The ginger salmon scoring the all important goal!

Agreed. Fonterra should look at contracting out Kelburn Park to dairy farmers. Would make a killing!

oh maybe they hate Karori as much as NW..?
i do dislike the use of that word hate as it is so finite in it's dimension of use.

The NW coach sounds like such a knob!

Haha easy for us to be jovial after a win. Yeah he did say something.

Anyone notice how the bottom three teams are those relegated from Cap Prem in 2013? I honestly think it's because they're not used to and probably didn't understand just how tough Cap1 is.

Brooklyn to capitulate half way through the season like last year?

speaking to a Marist stalwart today - they have gone from travelling Irish players a few years back, then Brazilians last year (who have moved on), to some local teenagers who might struggle to put up the fight that is needed in a game like vs Wainui at Kilbirnie for example. Dropping a grade usually means a few player exits obviously.

So a rebuilding year aye? Aren't most of us? Our Reserve team yesterday had about 3 players from 2013 team.

so one eyed nik, that's an interesting comment, for someone who doesn't know me!!
I have kept quiet for most of the crap that has been said on this site about NW, but when I get called a knob for no reason that is bang out of order.

Really! we played KCU first game and Karori wasn't mentioned! Second game we beat Karori and I complimented Karori on a good game, and I thought your reserve team coach was very gracious in defeat. Third game was no speech, and yesterday match was the first time Karori was mentioned. So where do you get every week? You must be getting paranoid !!
