For the 2015 season Capital 1 and Capital 2 will return to 10 team leagues.

ØAs per the regulations promotions are done first and relegations second. If eligible, two teams will be promoted and the necessary number of relegations will

.....

That's the official line. I take it that it means three teams go down from Cap 1 to Cap 2 and

it could be four teams if we have the same scenario as last year (WU down, PNM up).

you'd be really pissed at NW if you were the third team to go down. Especially if you saw NW go up.

Not really. If you finish 9th you would've gone down in a ten team league as well.

except remove NW from the division and you finish 8th...

relegations last year were a bit of a joke down all the grades.

i think last year it was supposed to be 3 down everywhere except cap1.

then at the last minute it changed to 2 down everywhere and nw still stay cap 1 and the11 team league.

but did all teams who came 9 and 10 below capital 1 get relegated last year?????

interesting to see who gets favours and why?

good sportsmanship and fair playing field is all we ask for

but all we get is talk and goal posts moving

Was not some of it related to dropping from 16 to 12 leagues. Some teams up the grades dropping down as well, more than by one.

There were no relegations from Cap 5

There were also other teams that didn't take their spot in grades like Cap 3 which had an effect. Same thing with Wairarapa and Horo position to enter Cap 3 if accepted. Which means every year number of relegations changes. I don't agree with the 11 team league but it's done and everyone knows the situation. If you're 9th at end of season, you're likely to go down. Tough luck. (Pending any protests of course! Sorry couldn't help myself!)

Cap Prem then Cap 1 to Cap 15. Cap 15 started with 12 teams.

Wests, Miramar went up to Cap 4, Olympic and I believe one of the Uni sides came down.

Admittedly though BNU 3rds pulled out completely and are no more.

Upper Hutt only team relegated from Cap 4 to Cap 5 Last year

Four teams went from cap 9 to 8 due to other teams pulling out etc. Not sure how many went from 7 to 8 but it's resulted in there being three Karori teams in the same division.

Don't think any teams went down from Cap 7 to Cap 8.  From Cap 7 there were 4 teams that went to Cap 6. Teams that came 1st, 2nd and 8th and 9th in the grade. I think the teams that came 8th and 9th were taking places of other teams from the club that might have pulled out.. Anyway all four teams from our grade last year seem to be in top half of Cap 6.

If 4 teams went up to cap 6, how did North Wellington keep 2 teams in cap 6? I was in one of them last year and for a new team with mostly U21 players playing their first season of senior football it was just far too high a level for most players. Fair enough if it was competitive games, but if you're losing on average 8-0 every week, even to the other bottom teams who are also losing most weeks, it's just clearly an unsuitable level for the team. I switched clubs this season to play a bit lower down and enjoy it more, and avoid being stuck in the same team at too high a level again.

Was surprised to see North Wellington still have 2 teams in 6 this year, my one at least should have gone down. Looks like they are doing a bit better this year but could be a mostly different team as the few I've spoken to are either not playing or playing elsewhere at lower levels this year.

Forgot about Upper Hutt. Olympic and Uni came up from 6 it seems.

Promotion/relegation quite easy really.

If two are to be promoted from each division, or the number prescribed by the regulations, promote them (if they qualify) and then make the required number of relegations to get the divisions to the right numbers.

Simple stuff.

Island Bay 4-1 over the Wharf. The Bay played at a fast pace and were the better team. Screamer of a 3rd goal.

Apparently Brooklyn were originally 1 nil down to Wainui but came back. Surprising - anyone have details on the game?

Permalink Permalink

A minging goal to put Wainui up - we found it hard to settle into the game with the wind. Pretty much all place kicks weren't sitting still, so passes weren't sticking. First 15-20 of second half we could have had 2-3 goals. Result was fair in the end, for all their graft Wainui created very little

KCU continue there push for promotion with a 2-1 win away…

notice Teza only posts wins by NW which is a shame as fear weather supporters are not real supporters i feel.

got to take the good with the bad….

next week we have the mighty swifts at karori so this will be a game to see how things have changed with both teams since there loss to NW at the mighty alexmoore at the start of the season.

and i take it that Wanui have not improved but BNU was put off by some poor weather so the 2-1 score line is not that a closer game.

Well taken goal by Wainui who were playing on the same ground as Brooklyn so also had to put up with the wind.

Brooklyn's 1st goal was clearly offside but well finished. Their 2nd goal came from a free kick from the edge of the box that went under the wall.

Hard to see from that performance as to why Brooklyn are top of the table and Wainui are at the bottom.

They score more goals than the team they are playing. Simple formula

So NW have done the double on them this season? Good shit. If you're going to have a whinge and talk crap on another side at least make sure you beat them! NW said all they needed to in the form of 6 points.

The game was a Cheriton special.

will be interesting to see the table after this weeks clash's.

there could be some movers or gaps will open between top and bottom that are to big to jump.

KCU should hold off the green and gold boys but you never know around exam time what can happen.

waterside need some points after last week and so it could be interesting to see if they show up for BNU.

and marist the dark horse of the bottom 3 keeps pulling wins out of the bag so NAENAE need to watch out or they will trade places.

i think sunday is settled as Wainui seem to have fired on occasion but have not produced points and thats what they need desperately.

NW should at worse get a draw on there artificial as WDU probably will take time to adjust as it is not quite like the other artificial grounds but i might be wrong

lets hope the weather stays out of it.

Details on the 3-2 BNU win over Wharf, Nomad or Doc?

Permalink Permalink

Wharf were up 1-0 early on. Pressed BNU well and deserved lead. BNU showed a determination not to lose, and came back soon after, and in 2nd half were superior.

BNU went 3-1 up around 75th, and wharf pulled one back in last minute. Nomad couple of sharp saves. Ref was interesting.
