All bad blood put aside from the 11 team league saga we had at the start of the year. I would like to see North Wellington finish right up there with Charlie involved. He would have to be one of the best coaches they have had in a while?  From the rumours I hear he is not the kind of guy who does it for the money either.

I reckon there might be a bit of Charlie involved in some of the posts in this thread...

Incredible stamina. No shame. Yellow Fever.

OOOO, I think NW may have something to say about that.  Have two games against Brooklyn so in their own hands and they're hitting form!
Though the point still stands.  An artificial out of the equation for Seatoun/Fraser. Booo

NW have been somewhat of a bogey side for BNU in recent history. These will be two tough season defining matches.

what a mixed bag of results.

i am not predicting anything in this comp as it is turning on it's head.

KCU1 Marist 1

that third spot from bottom looking more and more interesting as they all fight to stay clear.

so now marist at home have hurt both top contenders i wonder who is next on there list?

BNU and KCU have exact same stats. W, D, L, GF, GA, GD and points.

Good win for Wharf

Could've been 10-2 if Wharf hit target more in second half.

Mar wanted to call game off after 80 mins. To their credit, slotted a last minute well taken peno.

St Pats turf is in a wind tunnel that Meridian should consider in using for their turbines.

Those numbers for Brooklyn and Kapiti are crazy!
Definitely both look favourites to go up.

norf welly outside chance with games in hand. Dont think either of kcu or brooklyn will offer much in cap prem

Permalink Permalink

varsity are done i feel but the rest will be a big fight to avoid the other 2 relegation spots and the top teams need to watch out for that bogey game.

all the mid table teams have the potential to do damage on the day and i would even include wainuiomata at home in this list.

so it is coming down to the pointy end of the season and who has the depth to cause some damage or push ahead?

or are safe in prem and can drop a couple of players to help boost the results?

more pop corn and some charlie's to wash it down i think….

would like to see norf welly get promoted. Watched as a boy when they got promoted to central league in the mid 90s a conroy penalty in the 87th minute to beat gisborne city at alex moore in front of a home crowd of 500. The glory days in the clubs history. Any others there on that momentus occasion?

would you be talking of the winning of central league div2 in 1990 or the super league 1 in 1992? (your dad was still playing then i think)

or i think it was more likely the second place in central league div1 in 1996 as this was bills last year and was the clubs best performance ever in my opinion and the club was run for the good of it's members and players and the results on the field show this with 6 teams winning promotion and none being relegated

fairly sure it was 1996, sketchy on the details but remember the day vividly. How club football has changed.

Steve conroy? Must have jumped ship to wharf at the end of the season if him. How many teams in a league then :)

Was called Central Prem. I can't remember who was in the NW team

I saw that penalty win. Was it on the day Princess Diana died? I remember hearing about

her sad demise on my way home from watching some drama at Jville.

think it was paul conroy actually he was the skipper, and top scorer for the season. Tony and mark jamieson were both playing I think, in their younger days. Mark Ross in the midfield. Dean polyanzky off the bench

Dean Polyansky off the bench after he had finished his pie.

Brooklyn North Wellington far more mouth watering.

they should just decide the winner from a cumulative team alcohol breath test reading.

Oh and you can thank NW and Canton for having to play :)

BNU in it's day would have more fanatical english football supporters especially west ham and chelsea than NW and so i think NW is on to a winner here.

as it is a early kick off and i cannot see west ham being the wrong side of the score card and with the added possible incentive of courtney place pumping with out of town talent i think BNU will be lucky to have 11 fit to run on.

but things have changed and that drinking yobbo culture is not quite as acceptable as it once was (shame) so i might be wrong.

So does anyone know what will happen if a wgtn team doesnt win promotion/playoffs into central. Would that mean 3 teams drop from champs prem. Then 4 teams per grade below.  Would make every point count now.

The answer has been stated on here already and it is YES, four drop.

If you end up being the fourth team relegated from Cap 1 you can only blame NW and Cap Football. Would there be a case of it being unfair? #11teams2015

NW had lots of stats, game reviews and history on their old website which would have helped. The new one has four game reviews to end of April then nothing more. Bit of a shame.

Not a leg to stand on. If you finish 8th you're a chance to go down. It would be the same with a 10 team league.
