I have played for the 2nds all year, only missed one game. Although I have been Playing two games every weekend, there were still 5 2nd team players still playing for only our 2nds and 1 3rd team player against welly utd. I believe thats over half the team.
So as to why we feel we have to drop first team players...well its obvious - look at the teams who we could be playing in the promotion game Miramar or Lower Hutt City who also have been dropping players to stay up.
If we put out our 2nd team against SV and Wellington Utd we still should have easily won but we need to look to have a good side to face what will mostly likely be Miramars first team.
Also to the rumours about Raf he had certainly served his suspension he was sent off against petone and did not play the following week against Napier. And secondly we droped only the three players, we would not be that careless...
SV do you still remeber your 5v1 loss to us, no first team players then eh.
I don't believe that Miramar will have their first team if they were to end up in the promotion/relegation match. They did not drop players during the season (seeing as their second team was finished before their first team had secured CL), and I don't believe that they can drop players for the Promotion/Relegation match.
And what if instead you meet Marist, which is still a possibility. Do you not feel that having a fair number of your Central Leaguers playing gives you an unfair advantage. They will not be dropping players. And I'm guessing that if you do win promotion, players like Raf will not be playing in Premier League next year?
And while I have already said your team would quite likely have finished 2nd with your regular side, it is also true that Nth Wgtn could not drop players from a higher division to ensure they did not slip up at the end.... and teams have managed to turn around big deficits in rematches (we drew 3-3 in a match we should have won after losing 5-0 to the same team earlier in the year).
