5-2 win for us over the Slayer, one of theirs was beautifully placed, its the guy you know you have to watch but then manages to score whatever you do. we got some good passing going on, but a lot of missed opportunities in front of goal. Maybe our guys were too busy checking out the girls they had playing for them? they had plenty of tricks.

and jeez News even we beat them ;)

And i think NW Stella got blown away in the last 15, they were playing a few fields over from us in the Hutt there. Sounds like it was close for most the game then 3 goals late on, ending 5-1 I think but could be false.

Sorry my fifteen second impact substitution couldn't offer more at the end of the game.

A player sent off (deservedly), a rough penalty decision, and a last minute goal. Not bad for a Cap16 friendly. Can't say we played our best either, but who could on that pitch. Enjoyed it though.

I think we've got the Bombers next. Will be hard to play as bad as we did against them last time.

Hey, I'm in the Unicycles - and I'm listening...

Also apparently lost 6-2 to Seatoun, I didn't play so not sure what the deal with the score is.

Which goal? They were both spectacular for different reasons, Carl's left foot strike in the box or Kerry specualting from 40 meters out?

The girls obviously have not been with the Slayer's long as they pass to players and don't indulge in half time drinkees ;)

Good game, better team won.

Carl's left foot strike was the one i'm thinking of.

A couple of us were discussing whether the 40m shot is a Slayers trademark move, as you did that against us last time and scored as well ;)

Can't argue with the results :). Usually it's bought on by a bored opposition goalkeeper coming too far out of the box, of course we normally have to let in 6 goals first.

I think you playing on it probably helped!

Honestly, makes ZERO difference. The Naenae firsts and seconds play their home games on it. We got to play on it after it looked like a tractor had ploughed through the cricket block in the middle of the football pitch.

So yeah, makes zero difference.

I was trying to get us moved to Te Whaea during the week, but can't get on the pitch there.  Better hope for a cancellation as I want to watch the Nix at Hutt Park at the same time... and avoid playing on the Naenae 1 swamp.

If anyone from eastborne is reading you should probly bring nets tommorow if you want them  because our ones are locked up at happy valley.

At least it's easier to find than Prouse

Wainui cricket clubs ground.  Usually in pretty good nick.  You should try playing on Prouse 4 across the bridge.  Only place harder to find is Heretaunga.

we had some "fantastic" refereeing too., but we were on the right end of a 3-1 scoreline against the stokes valley

They're our bogey team, we play awfully against them every time.

I was ref today... and fantastic.

I'm mostly annoyed with the ref cos their goal was from the penalty spot after I was adjudged to have hand balled it in the box. The ref didn't see it and the three valley players who called for the penalty wouldn't have seen it as they were behind me and it came off my chest/shoulder anyway. glad the game wasn't decided on that.

That Naenae pitch was amazing, I haven't seen so much mud on a football pitch in a long time...luckily I was only in it for a half. And thanks to the fantastic ref for the reviewed call on that back pass - I was trying to clear the damn thing!

Nice.  We lost 4-2 to Porirua.  Conceded 4 in the first twenty, then made eight changes to bring on the B-side and won the rest 4-2.

We enjoyed ourselves.
