You lent players to the first team!?
By the look of the score they did, or is that why their cap 9 team defaulted, they were all playing for the 1sts.

Won a raffle, had a good time, I think the Petone Masters team was 2nd, we split ourselves up between 2 teams this year to give you a chance.

Was a good clean game between the Slayers and Naenae played in good spirits and the odd laugh.

3-2 Naenae was a fair result.

One thing I would like to add though is that the Naenae ref might need to actually read a few more of the rules (like he advised us players to do) A hand ball by the goal keeper is a direct free kick, no a "goal keeper indiscretion" as he insistant when saying "Read the rules law 12"
That might sound a bit anal bringing it up but if I got a law wrong I would rather know so that I could get it right for the next time.

Yep, you're right, I did go back to the laws and spotted the error. My apologies.

Second goal. Was in a really bad position for that one, had about three people between me and the player with the ball.

Its all good,

I find I am constantly learning some little rule.

I got abused when I had to ref the game against Olympic, along with the guy showing me his testicles etc one of them told me I was allowing our team to do foul throws because the our team was bending there elbows.

Now humour yourself and stand there and pretend to throw the ball with your arms straight.

The sad thing was he was serious

You should've picked up the ball and demonstrated how ridiculous throwing the ball with straight arms looks and that should have shut him up.

Although from what I've heard about that Olympic team, who knows how he'd have reacted.

Forget the Phoenix!  Bring on the real champagne (well DB Draught) footie.....

Look forward to renewing some old rivalries on the more challenging grounds around Welly.

Been a few changes in recent weeks.

Firstly there were 14 teams with a new Naked Mole Rats (Eastbourne) side so no bye.  Now I'm hearing the Bye is back and it is the Nighthawks bye opening week as the North Wellington Fiji side have gone in to the Grade above.

Well HN plays in it so i'm guessing it's world class.

Three for me, and two for them.

maybe we will be able to play hungova after all

Damn right world class.  Interesting mix of sides out for a laugh and a beer and new sides starting the move up the grades.  Means you can scrape a 1-0 draw one week and get hammered 6-0 the next.

Most teams though are pretty social and out for a laugh.

Last year the Nighthawks had players from 16 to 55, just to be inclusive.

It was that or keep a 'potential' problem team in the grade.  Turns out we have a new 14th side though, I believe Petone join as of next week.

I know people who play Football Central Premier League hungover.  No reason you can't play Cap 16.

I know people who have played NZFC (well, started on the bench) hungover.

Three for me, and two for them.

so say if the nix ressies made a team they would have to start in capital 16?

Teams transferring between clubs any any grade where the club does not relinquish the position, have to start in 16 and it will take 10 years to get back to Div 6 (mid table).

So be nice to your club

I would love to see a team scrape a 1-0 draw.

I see the Slayers have managed their old drinking partners Porirua City on Easter with two days of recovery. How dodgy is that?
Go the Slayers!

Go the Slayers!
I made that assumption also, only to find we were playing a team of guys all under the age of 25 and fit! Not the Porirua-Mana team I remember so fondly at all.

We went down 14-3 by the way, but definately drunk more beer than the opposition at the game :)

I think we ended up 6-0 down to the uni cycles, thought we played well even though the score board doesnt show it.
