Just out of curiosity, what were the standings after Round 1 had been completed (or, if there are games yet to be played) as close to being completed as occurred?

Would be interesting to know what the standings would be if they have to scrap the 2nd half

they would have to finish this grade.

These were the standings after round 9 (1st Round)

                                     P  W  D  L  GF  GA  Pts
Island Bay Untd            9  8  0  1  24   6  24
Waterside Dreamers     9  7  1  1  33  15  22
Marist                            9  7  0  2  20   9  21
Seatoun                        9  6  1  2  21  12  19
Miramar Rangers          9  3  2  4  19  19  11
Olympic                         9  3  2  4  14  16  11
Tawa                             9  3  2  4  16  18  11
Upper Hutt City            9  1  1  7  11  27   4
Brooklyn Northern        9  1  1  7  10  30   4
Stop Out                       9  1  0  8  15  31   3
But im sure we have to finish the round off.. but in all my years, ive never seen rain this bad and this many cancellations, so who knows what Capital Soccer may do..?

They are saying that we must play the promotion/ relegation games to finish the season, so the likes of Tawa v Miramar, us (Olympic) v Tawa will be scraped!

But if this rain keeps up, you can only play 2 games a week, so they may change the rules this year! if so, Marist and Stop Out will be gutted!

surely they would have to complete this grade - tawa has island bay, marist and karori to play! that will go along way to determining who goes up weve stolen points off island bay already no reason why we wont do it again.
I think also looking it at it would be totally unfair taking it off 1st half as marist deserve to be ahead of island bay at this stage

not to sure if the first round has been completed yet. I think the catch up games are this weekend, weather permitting.
Interesting to see what will happen alright. Down our end of the table us, Upper Hutt and BNU will be all hopeing that the games get played.
Big game for us against BNU this weekend. If it goes by first round who ever wins this game stays up

I think your correct nakisponge... I recall Stop outs 9th game being against Tawa at Kura st and that was the 2nd time they had played them.. I was going to go out and watch the game but couldnt be arsed... Anyhow i agree with bob i  dont think they would go back to the 1st round that would be totally unfair and would cause teams like stop out, marist and upper hutt getting pretty pissed off

i hear I Bay are paying their first teamers into the seconds. Big hard on the lads that got them there. I'm sure the Ginger Salmon Dave Rutherford won't be impressed.

This grade is miles behind. Who have Bay and Marist got left to play?

wow - you really do get get excited about yellow fever dont you!!!

as for what you actually meant - been the story of the season really hasnt it (apart from the weather) players getting dropped etc etc. but yea most teams have 3 games to play bar karori(4) and miramar (5). couldnt tell you who bay and marist have left but i presume capital football are waiting for one of bay/marist/dreamers to slip up so they can cancel this grade although it dosn't seem to clear cut at the bottom either.

Yeah, feel sorry for them really! the pitch was terrible, but they def deserved to win.. But your gonna get that this stage of the season.. why do you think that Stop Out were getting thrashed 4-0, 5-0 at the start of the season.. but now beating everyone!

I'd be gutted, my view is, if ya not good enough for the Division, then tough, dont try and kid yourselves that you are hoping that you will get a few players next year! same with promotion, if you cant get promoted by beating teams with the players you have, what makes tyou think you will do anything in the divsion above with players that cant even beat teams in lower divisions!

We have Tawa this week..? probably the same there!

What makes me laugh is that the likes of Island Bay and Karori have been dropping players from their teams above to gain promotion,if your not good enough to win with the players you have and other teams who haven't fielded a single 1st teamer all season (marist and obviously Seatoun to name a few) should be the decervant winners. There whould be a rule put out that after 1st round you cannot drop players, whats going to happen next year if I bay goes to div 1 and they are crap?? drop players to help them out??

well you are obviously an idiot who doesnt know what he is talking about since Karori have had the same team about about 7 yrs. They have played no first teamers - so keep laughing if you still feel the need...

Yeah yeah thought someone would grab at that one, although when Marist played karori at kilbirnie fact of the matter was that Karori had a few players that we were told ( by your goalkeeper) that you had called up.And we still beat them 2-1

Oh well that happens, unless your keepers a liar??

And who has Karori been dropping down? The Dreamers don't want any of the players in the teams above!

Seatouns team in this Division is their First team... and Karori's team is too old even to play masters!! so you would recognise anyone who wasnt in their team!

All these Clubs want to do is cement their teams in the best leagues as possible! So that they keep attracting younger players to the club.. if i were a yuongster, would i go to a club that their first team was playing in Capital 2.. no, i would want to try to play at the highest possible level!

yeah Hilly played a part in that game maybe due to absences - though he was so hung and so bad that I doubt he will be wanted back!

I was speaking to someone from the Stop out team the other night and he informed me that teams in Central league, Premier or, Capital one cant drop players down into there 2nd team once their season has finished as Capital 2 still has atleast 3 or 4 rounds left to go.. Island bay has played 18 games in Premier... Marist 17 games in Premier.. Island bay cant drop any players down and marist will only be able to drop 3 players this weekend against stop out and 3 next weekend as 3 is the limit of players allowed to be down graded each game... I may be wrong but teams in capital 2 playing a team who has a team in a higher grade may want to check that rule out...
Marist should expect a tough game this weekend from Stop out who i see are on a winning streak finally..

i heard the same thing. Had a look on capital soccer website and found this

b) no more than three Central or Champs Premier League players can be

regraded down into any local league team for any one game. When the

relevant Central or Champs Premier League is completed, no further

players can be regraded from such Central or Champs Premier League

teams.

c) for Capital 1 division and below, no more than three players can be

regraded down into any one team for any one game

d) when a team has completed its season, and is involved in a playoff, no

further players can be regraded to that team.

I have to agree with Feverish on the rule interpretation....players can drop from a grade until the entire grade is finished, Capital Prem won't be finished as a whole for another 3 weeks, so players could potentially be dropped by any team until then.

I will say that I can't see Marist dropping players...the first team has a pretty important game next week but, ultimately, we are 2nd bottom, they are near the top, I don't think they'd take any of us... Anyway, they've got a good team spirit and they should keep going as they are

No chance Tawa dropping players!  We have the opposite problem!  Our first team is still trying to win Premier and they have a few injuries so we have lost players rather than gaining them.  Works both ways I guess.
Should be a good game between Tawa and Olympic tomorrow.

Regardless of the position of our firsts, Marist 2nds would play with their own squad members, we have 17 in the squad anyway, so some of the boys have got bugger all game time this year, without anyone coming down, it wouldn't be fair on any of the lads, but especially them to start playing guys from the firsts. We will see the season out with the same players we've had all year. Nothing worse than getting dropped to make way for a player from another team. What time is your guys game Wulfy? We'll try to get as many of the lads along to support as we can.

Looking forward to the Stopout game, we really scraped in last time we played you, and it's going to be a tough one for sure. Good luck to Muzza and the lads

But some teams would have dropped 3 players the week before, and 3 players last week, which means they can now play the 6 first team players for the rest of the season.

Sorry Feverish...I heared it was when the team had finished in that grade not that grade all together... Not 100 Percent what the correct rule is.. Yes blocker you are correct that could be the case but if teams in capital 2 will do that who knows..

Marist played Stop out Sat gone. 0-0
Must of had a few new signings over the past month or so as there seemed to be only 2-3 players that were in the team 1st round.(where was that fast little guy that caused us havoc at cobham)
We heard they had dropped a number of players but at present unsure to whether or not that is true.Turns out there was a guy on the sideline that pointed out a few players that maybe shouldn't have been there,we'll see when the protest comes through i suppose.Marist gotta be out of it now.Well done to either Miramar or Island Bay.

Totally agree, i mean how can you get hammered in every game in the first round, then start getting results now!!... but they want to stay in this division.. so they have dropped 9 first team players! 3 each week over the last 3 weeks! feel sorry for the boys that have been there week in week out trying their hardest! to get chucked out now!

Oh well 2 tough games for us coming up, Playing Marist first team on Saturday and Stop Out Central League team on Sunday!

I thought it was a good game on Saturday Sniper. The most entertaining nil all draw i have been involved in. Yes we did have a few changes from the last game at cobham. Kelvin the little guy up front was away for the weekend, hopeing he's back for the double header this week. Matt  who played up front joined us halfway through the season and a couple of the younger guys have been promoted to the 1st team and playing well considering their experience levels.

Not sure where the guy on the sideline got his info from. We only had 3 first team squad members playing on Saturday and one of them has been with us for a month. The other two have played for us before and both were returning from injury so needed a run before the playoffs. One of the pros and cons of being a second team i guess.
Back to the game I thought both keepers kept their side in it with a couple of good saves each. Our striker still thinks his header was in but hey thats football. It's a shame some of your guys couldn't stop directing their frustrations at the ref, The more they complained the more 50/50 calls we got. otherwise didn't think he was two bad but he did let alot go.  good luck for the double header this weekend

I'm just as certain that my clearing bicycle kick was well before the ball crossed the line (though the keeper says it was closer than I thought!).

Having said that, my heart was in my mouth given pretty much every other call had gone against us that day.

Sniper, Blocker, I won't beat around the bush, you are calling us cheats, plain and simple.

The team that has been through a resurgence of late is more or less the same side that has played all season.

Myself and a couple of other players were added to the side after three or four games as the coaching team realised that the team needed a bit more experience.

Since then, we have had first team players play for us on occasion.  We have also lost second team players who have been called up for first team duty as well. THIS IS WHAT HAPPENS WHEN YOU ARE A SECOND TEAM.  Some weeks we have had a full squad, on other we have been decimated (i.e. Tawa away).  I'd have you know that we are also currently without perhaps two of our best players; midfielder Danny Moriarty and striker Kelvin Lange.

Lodge a protest, check the team cards, do something of substance to get this off your chest - mouthing off ill-informed accusations only makes it look like sour grapes.

On a positive note; we really enjoyed our encounters against Marist this year; they're a good team with some good blokes on board too.
