Looking forward to the first ever Salmon v Nighthawks duel, and was happy about the rejig- the previous configuration was looking nasty!

We are probably out of our depth and  look like we might lose one of our better players mid-season but thought we'd have a laugh.

We can join you near the bottom then and look forward to cliched match reports using phrases like '6 pointer' and 'relegation dog fight'

I have you down as an emergency. Was going to recruit you but we've got a couple who have back that I thought were gone.

& i think that what News meant by the title of this thread is that Nighthawks got moved around but have now settled in at Div 9

so this is the Div 9 thread

Yeah.  Stop Out lads who beat us were good lads as well.  Much less angst than some lower grade games we've played.

They lead 3-0 and we got it back to 3-3 but lost 4-3 late due to incompetence.

Well, I managed to honk up the joint on my return to organised football, but on the upside I'm not feeling too sore today so that gives me hope things may get better (but I'm not counting on it).

Nighthawks get a win.  Don't worry, we're as shocked as you.

Hit the crossbar a couple of times as well.  Big game from Boxey in the middle of the park and it turns out WIlso is actually a centre-back.

NZCopley again our standout.

Unicorns points awarded to Nighthawks (15 June)?  What did Uni do this time?

Played reserves team players from Petone I think.

Played a couple of inelligible players... on the pitch next to the Chatham Cup game... where most of Capital Football were... including Capital Football employees who are their team mates in the side they normally play for.

You'd think so considering there are no team cards so can really go on eye witness accounts. Pretty stupid from Uni but at Cap 9 maybe they don't care.

There was photographic evidence too, so more than just eye witness accounts.

I'm pretty sure regs are broken in 90% of games from cap 7 down.

what are regulations?

Queenslander 3x a year.

They shouldn't be. So any chance you get to enforce the regs should be taken. But yeah pretty hard to police, and they are broken all the time.

No idea how anyone would police it unless you knew the opposition players who were breaking the regs..

Re: Uni

the thing is, with that team they shouldn't need to resort to that- certainly not to compete with the likes fo Nighthawks and Salmon for that matter- they are young, fast and skilfull and should be able to field a team to compete- or to go totheur club if they are short.

They turned up against us with 10-do they not have a relationship with their own club to get players when short?

even though Naenae getting the points is a worse scenario for us because of the relegation dogfight we are locked in i am pleased that action was taken to send a warning to teams who constantly do this.

Re: regs being broken- of course it happens. its one thing however to drop the odd club player down the ranks, its another to go to another club altogether and get top garde players.

Cheers News!

I filled in for a social team one night - only to be playing against Smithy and 2ndBest - neither of which were registered to that team.

2B thwarted my goal scoring efforts so I ended up snapping Smith in half
