Well done Stokes Valley congrat's on winning div 7, a hard game yesterday both sides wanted the win it got a bit ugly at times but it was more due to the passion to win from both sides I guess.

Good game today at Nairnville, managed to squeeze a 1-0 win over a good Stallions side.el grapadura2009-08-08 21:31:16

Always enjoy a good game against the Magpies, both teams just get on with the football, well done.

Yep, well done to the Magpies - it was a great game - good luck for the rest of the cup. Still hurts that you guys did the treble on us this season - every game was close. Nice one.

Yep, we always enjoy our games against Stallions too - always tough and competetive, and no dramas.

Good luck for the rest of the Cup too, but unfortunately we can't both make the final...

The gods shined on the Aces today as we broke our duck of a winless season to beat Marist Cobras 5-1 at a relatively nice condition Cobham Park. Was a tighly contested game until a Cobra's defender flattened our skipper and a few heated words were said between the defender that commited the foul and one of our players, resulting in a punch thrown and Cobras down to 10 men for the last half hour.

Fair call to the Cobras who apologised for the incident, and was a clean match apart from that point. Just elated with the Aces first win of the season.

Wonder if Capital Football will ring our skipper back to check that the message he left on the answerphone was correct, haha

Nice one Shabba - shame about the default huh? Stallions won in a good game against Elite. So El Grapadura what happened?

Absolute shambles. We were missing a few guys, but that's no excuse. Defending laughable in the second half. Midfield AWOL in second half. Couldn't finish a cheese sandwich.

Good on Stokes Valley, they're looking good for the double now.

Finally getting some end of season form with a 2-0 over University at KP yesterday. University had by far the most shots of the game, but 90% were from outside of the box thanks to some classy defending from the Aces backline that kept its first cleansheet all season. University were obviously trying to play attractive football, which was evident at certain times, but hard to do on a boggy and slippery KP. Good game though.

Whats the schedule now for the cup? Will next week just be a final between the 2 group winners, or will it be 2nd v 2nd, 3rd v 3rd, 4th v 4th?

Everyone still gets a game, so you lads should be up against the Stallions next week.

Yeah, we look forward to it Shabba, Aces and Stallions have had some good battles this season. Mind you, there may be reason to be scared after our 4-1 demolition of Stokes Valley yesterday! Just a shame that Elite and Magpies leaked so many goals to them through the cup, letting them sneak through on goal diff. No one wants to see them win the league and the cup! C'mon Marist.

Local derby at the Kilbirnie cricket block between Marist Town and the Cobras.

Beautiful day for football, if you don't want to turn up on a day like that then you really shouldn't be playing the game.

Good victory for Town, enjoyable game...

Have heard rumours there are linesman as well as a ref for all the 1 v 1 finals...anyone know if this is true?

That was the undertaking from Cap Football at the start of the season.

Well fingers crossed. We had a ref on the weekend and I thought he did a pretty reasonable job of it too.

Yeah, these kind of grades start getting proper refs late in the season when most of the higher grades are finished. We had a ref for our game too, and he did well.
