Cougars class of 2009 bears little resemblance to the last time we were in cap 3 (in a previous life as Wanderers), expect us to get up against LH this week.

Otherwise, would pick UH to destroy BNU, KCU to do similar to the 'Rapa, and Tawa and IB to be a tight tustle.

LHT, Karori game should be good, both teams fighting to get off the bottom.

KCU to do Rapa.  Tawa should take IB by a few.

I think Nightz was refering to a cougar a.k.a the older lady

the manager of the Cougars is the guy on my signature below with his mouth open - Dan "Da Vinci" Brown. He has his team primed to storm up Cap3.

I think Tawa are going to lose this week. They are going to get beaten by a few goals. Just get the ball wide as there right and left back are rubbish.

Alright lads settle down. Just pointing out some facts. Lets face it all your six wins have been lucky and I think your luck has just about run out. I think come end of the season you will be battling it out at the bottom of the table

Scores? Looks like the results may not be up on cap football's website for a couple of days due to a malfunction with the answering machine.

Tawa beat Island Bay 2-1. Tawa were up 1 nil at ht. Island Bay scored around 10mins into 2nd half and Tawa got the winner with 3mins to go. Was a pretty even game all up.

Karori beat Lower Hutt 2-0.

Tawa is top on 21 points, Upper Hutt second with 18 points. If Kapiti beat Rapa then Kapiti are on 15 points. Kapiti have yet to play both Tawa and Upper Hutt. Brooklyn and Lower Hutt sit bottom two.

Reasonably predictable results from the weekend.

Interesting to see Upper Hutt only win 2-1.  Did the Brooklyn team have few first team players?  And by the sounds of things Tawa had to work pretty hard to edge out Island Bay.  The league seems relatively tight despite Tawa's run of form (with upper Hutt only 3 points adrift).

Picks for the forthcoming weekend:

Tawa        2   Rapa          1
U.Hutt      2   L.Hutt         2
Waikanae 1   Kapiti          1
N. Wgtn   3   Brooklyn      0
Karori       1   Island Bay   3

I cant believe the cheek of the island bay goalie..
asking us which one is the "oldbastard" - surely it was easy to tell!!!

:-)

I even offered to give up my seat on the train this morning cause he looked a bit tired.. :-)

And tawa is the curtain raiser for more old bastards on saturday - vets are the main game at redwood.

I thought the island bay game was played in very good spirits.. seemed a bit strange after the review of the lower hutt game... maybe it wasnt the fault of island bay then??

i agree with hutt boys predictions except for the tawa game... wair arent gonna get any.. 3 nil to tawa.

He's always been a twat. So there's no suprise there. Hopefully he's gone for the season. Football doesn't need guys like him. Especially in Cap 3.

I was simply wanting to meet one of my follow YF forumites - and to remind you of one of your previous posts saying that you don't go past half way.

What a bunch of lies - you kept on coming up the field, and the ref had to keep on stopping the game so your teammates could give you oxygen for your altitude sickness

The game was played in good spirit - and the ref deserves credit for his performance too.

My "cheeky bugger" comment was aimed more at my esteemed team mate rather than at you!  I should have taken the seat offered - that would have shut him up! (Or maybe not...)

Admittedly I did make several trips across the half way line, but that was only from the relative safety of dead ball situations.  Getting back when the play broke down was the hard part!

Thanks to you and your team for a well-contested game, Shark Attack. As you said, the game was played in a good spirit, no BS from either side and the ref did a good job.  It was an enjoyable, hard-fought game and, whilst we were glad to come away with the win, I did feel a little sorry for you guys losing in the last couple of minutes of the game.  I look forward to the return fixture.

Tawa only beat us 2 nil not 3. Tight game with them getting a lucky penalty and a well taken second

Not a game for the purists, that's for sure, but I reckon you could probably have said that for pretty well every game played yesterday in that howling southerly and, at times, horizontal rain/sleet.  I am only just now getting the feeling back in my extremities...

Both Tawa and Rapa played some good stuff at times despite the conditions.  Penalty was probably a little harsh, but the ball did make contact with the hand in the area.  Whether there was intent or not would be the point of debate.  The second goal was quality - good, strong approach work under pressure and a composed finish.

Raps also to our goalie who made a spectacular flying save (and held onto the ball) in the second half from a well-struck shot from about 20-odd yards.

If the season gets rained out like last year that will make it easier for tawa to be leading at halfway
