Rookie mistake

I assume, that the player would assume he was registered. I would therefore assume that the mistake was made by clubs officials.

I'm guessing you'll be standing on the sideline wearing a leather jacket showing all your bling bling chains off? Hahahahaha.

Colm Kenny to turn up hungover and score a hat-trick.

Miramar too strong (literally) for Wests. Ryan Thomas is very good though. Miramar are a good complete squad. Wests lost it in midfield today, although they'll be frustrated at a couple they conceded that they could easily have prevented.

Upper Hutt too strong for Tawa. Two nil up in the first fifteen minutes, Tawa never at the races. Phil Patterson running around like he's in his early 30s, and Chris Campbell made a very tidy penalty save. Tawa's captain with the most gracious, honest and thoughtful losing post-match speech I have ever heard in Central League.

And I hear Brendan McIntyre was sent from the technical area in Lower Hutt's game against Olympic. That's all I've got though, I wasn't there.

Interesting! heard Hutt played with 10 men in second half and Olympic only just managed 2-1

1 all draw Miramar vs Wairapapa according to Twitter. Lower Hutt leading Petone 3-0 at half time. 2 goals to Hamish Watson and 1 to Nathaniel Hailemariam.

Lower Hutt vs Petone finishes 3-0. Lower Hutt finished the game with ten men again after Taylor Schrijvers sent off with a straight red. He got tackled and fouled by Petone player and got up in his face. Didn't look like he touched the Petone man so must be something he said and ref heard.

Fiery game in second half as Petone got frustrated and Lower Hutt did a couple of stupid tackles. Lower Hutt was also lucky not to lose their keeper for hand ball out of the box, but not spotted by the ref. Well he must of spotted it, but not realised where keeper was on the pitch.

Interesting to hear the comments in the Petone/Lower Hutt speeches, after Lower Hutt gave out their player of the day, and for petone coach to comment about its been the second year in a row where LH have taken their centre backs, only to give them player of the day, in Petones club rooms. Brilliant banter. No love lost there I expect

Yeah wasn't the player fouled that got the red but didn't see what happened. Lower hutt 3 chances and 3 goals after Petone hit the bar then post early. Hamish Watson is quality. Pity it was over at halftime.

Retaliation  got the red I'm told

Yeah figured that was the case, cheers. Didn't affect the game at all, was well over by then.

sigh, wish I was there to enjoy... Can I hazard a guess it was an aging, bobsledding lawyer in the tackle with Taylor?

"Miramar Rangers have yet to be beaten in Central League play this season and lie second on the points table behind the only other unbeaten side, Wellington Olympic."

This from the article. I guess the headline is alluding to Miramar being one of the top sides. More interesting is the photo of Masterton AFC's home ground. Now that does look rural. I reckon the centre circle was roped off with a couple of sheep grazing in it.

Was pondering on my drive to Paraparaumu today...who would be the highest paid player in Central League? My vibe would be a Rapa playerand if yes, what would they get?......in line with this, do Miramar pay the same amount as what other clubs pay? Given that some of their players are basically semi-pro would they be able to pay much? Keen to hear people's thoughts.

Most any player can get is fair expenses. Or they can not play in central league or any amateur league.

It's an amateur league so nobody gets paid surely? I mean its only a local competition, clubs wouldn't place enough value in it that they'd spend people's hard earned subs and misuse trust money to pay players surely?

All trust money is audited and matched to legitimate receipts for the approve purpose. Enough said.

These expenses can be fairly generous..costs could include boots, petrol, gear. Some of the stories of the value of Rapa players would also defy that players weren't paid?

It's an expense right?

I remember a time when TW said that it wasn't going to be Mar in disguise. I think they have backtracked on that..

Some Kids (even adults) can't afford to pay subs to play football. Meanwhile other players are being paid $100+ per game to play average football and place mid-lower table in the central league.

Why do they get their 'expenses' covered?

cos that's the way it is - get over it

Doesn't make it particularly right. You could pay a fair few teams worth of junior subs for that kind of coin. Change starts with recognising that something is wrong and can be changed, rather than "that's the way it is, get over it"

Having said that, if I were to be offered $100 to play a game of football, I'd take it. So I'm hardly taking the moral high ground here, just pointing something out. Would be nice if the attitude of clubs did change, but doubt it ever will.

Change starts with people volunteering to help run a club. I take it you already do?

I don't really see what that has to do with paying players.

I have massive respect to those who volunteer to run a club. But I don't see how more volunteers = players not getting paid etc.

Is Keinzely gonna listen to your cries to help out little Johnny now? or perhaps after you have served on the Rapa committee for a year you might suggest to him that rather than buying Higham new mags for his car he could buy a new junior kit? Perhaps by assisting him by picking up cones at training, thus creating a better training environment, he will manage to keep hold of a Welli player and doesn't need to shell out for a French import.

More hands means you can create a better environment for players in lieu of $, plus more ideas/views at the coalface can instigate change.

Anyway  - stop wasting my time on this grrr
