I thought you had to have two league games to qualify for the cup.

Need to be registered for 10 Business days prior to taking field in Cup game if not at same club last season.

Do not have to play any games prior to doing so.

Yeah I know!! Thats what it says in Regs.

Was just 14 Days last year not sure why they'd put Business days in there

just to make it less simple. Obviously. I wonder if any clubs were caught out by Anzac Day then. Doubt that would count as a business day...

Just watched the NCR vs WAI highlights. While NCR are scoring for fun atm there was some woeful defending from WAI. Borren and Cooksley looked to have been at fault for two each - Basalaj was on the bench, will be surprised if he doesn't start next week. Some free kick from the WAI defender too.

Fuck this stupid game

Wests 2-1 over Miramar.

Rangers scored early, Wests pulled it back 1-1, then a penalty out away to bring it 2-1.

Petone 1 Stop Out 2.

Petone's goal as I saw it. SO keeper took ball out of the area. Ref gave a free kick. SO players argued the point.  Whilst they were doing so the Petone player put the ball down and pushed it into an undefended goal. That right?

Profile pic. Should you be interested. Lakhsen, on the right, lost touch with him.
Mohammed, on the left, I'm still in touch with. He's now living in Agadez, Niger. More focused on his animals now as tourism has dried up. Is active with a co-op promoting local goods, leather work and bijouterie, into Europe.

no, not at all. The Petone players should have all waited while the Stop Out players argued with the referee for as long as they wanted

if no second blow of the whistle from the ref then take your opportunity as soon as you see it.

shame it didn't earn petone some points.

good sportsmanship and fair playing field is all we ask for

but all we get is talk and goal posts moving

good on the referee too. It's annoying seeing advantage taken away from a team who earned a free kick just because the opposing team wants to have a whinge.

Was that the same keeper who a couple of weeks ago against PN Marist got caught near the halfway line, went in for a 50/50 challenge and got hurt, stayed down while PN Marist played on and scored?

PN Marist did nothing wrong as it was a fair challenge, but with that and the incident you mention I'd be starting to question the decision making of the SO keeper

Jr and I waddled down to watch Olympic vs Tawa last night. 5-0 to Olympic at half time. Hard to tell whether it was because they were very very good or Tawa was awful; possibly a mixture of both. Olympic bossed the midfield especially  in the first half. Very quick game but the standard of passing surprised me. I guess we were expecting a fluent, accurate game. Didn't really get that. Having said that, absolutely crap night to be playing. Second half meandered a bit- Olympic dropped off a bit we thought and Tawa was more organised. We both thought Olympic's no. 11 played well ( I think it was Sam Blackburn but may be wrong ).5-0  final score, could have been 6 or 7 if some half chances in second half had gone in.

At the start of the season I would have said Wairarapa United, but Napier beat them 5-2

I saw Napier beat Olympic 4-1 a few weeks ago and they looked really good and that was when Bill Robertson was still in Fiji with Team Wellington!

Shock - Petone do take the points at NCR. Must have used the team bus to hold onto a 1 goal lead for 85'

Becoming the best Hutt team

Petone worthy winners today with both teams having plenty of chances without scoring.   Both goal keepers had good games.

Petone goal scored by Van Elia after 5 minutes.   NCR looked lethargic and this may be the kick in the backside that they needed with Chatham Cup coming up next weekend.   NCR did score through Tom Biss I think but goal disallowed for off side, a hotly contested decision so will view the video with interest - not that it will make any difference to the result but will reinforce or dash my own thoughts ( thought he was onside).

Stand out defender for Petone was David Lane.

My apologies for getting the wrong player, but no apologies for my getting the goal decision right.   However, our local paper reported Napier losing yesterday so it is all semantics isn't it.

Can't blame the officials for the loss - NCR had enough chances to win three games.

Wests travel to Napier on Sunday for top of the table clash. With no U20 games in Welly on Sunday (or Napier, sorry Napier), but Hungary v Nigeria in the Naki (should be a cracking game), and Ferns v Netherlands, will there be a decent for-crying-out-loud? Predictions? Edge red card?

Yeah I would have said the West player went through the defender and if anything a free kick to Miramar.
