Rapa being coached by Phil Keinzley this season and look to have a good squad with some good signings in Cameron Lindsay, Coey Turipa and Alex Risdale all from Tasman. Ifill, Mason-Smith and Chettleburgh all back again and Soromon back from PNM.

I keep seeing  on Facebook that Taranaki are signing more and more foreigners. Another today,  a goalkeeper. Do they know you can only have three on the team card  for each match, that haven't been here in NZ for 12 months already?

Or does this Cap Football rule not apply to them?

New this year.

3.7. Teams will be required to have a minimum of eight New Zealand Qualified Players (out of a match day squad of sixteen) on a teamcard in the same match

Stand down. It means New Zealand citizen.

Adam Cowan has signed for PNM and they have lost Josh Margetts as he is moving to Auckland.

Also have heard a whisper that since Shane Rufer has come in to coach, he has basically imposed a "my way or the highway"  rule for the other coaches to follow...  So a week out from the season,  the reserves, 3rds, and 4th team coaches have all quit apparently.

Can see it being a tough year for Marist

   Definition of "Player"

3. Player Eligibility 3.1. A player must be duly registered with his Club and otherwise complying with these and relevant Regulations. A “player” is defined as a person who actually takes the field in the current season. See appendix 1 which covers eligibility rules for representative teams.

Should this not be "in current game."  Or as said above 8 foreign players and 3 NZQ players can play in a game.

Could be cheap training for an Island OFC Nation to arrange for National players to play CL for _______________

Just mirrors the SS Prem rules, 8/16 which can then be 8/11, doesn't it?

What "A “player” is defined as person who actually takes the field in the current season" is about is that it's saying that someone has to play at some point to become a player, ie you can't protest the ineligibility (on whatever grounds - an example would be that they haven't been registered properly) of someone until they've played in any game.

If Park Life was still around he would have had some fun with the name Rodrigo Mangin(a)i.

Did Hedge coach Wellington Phoenix United FC last year or was that Valerio and if Valerio where's he gone?

Think the only one with a pro-contract is Logan Rogerson and he doesn't appear to have been transferred to Wellington Phoenix United

Not sure if Sapreet Singh has a pro contract, but he also hasn't been transferred (yet)

The only McGarry on the Capital Football clearance page is a Ryan McGarry who has transferred from Green Island in Dunedin to Petone

Team Taranaki Coach : Iain McGrath

IN – Santiago Fernandez, Rodrigro Mangini (both Uruguay), Sandro Grandi (Italy), Tyler (TJ) Stevens (Detroit City, USA), Wade Randle, Sam Adeyinka (both PN Marist), Ryan Holden (Team Wellington), Josh Willetts (Universities, Canterbury), Damien Mosquera (Eastern Suburbs), Ben Moore (Francis Douglas Memorial College)

OUT -

If this list is correct, it is good to see that Team Taranaki is making the most of the regulation allowing them to play a combined local team in the Central League competition.

(Will now take my sarcasm hat off)

fancy signing players from outside the area... not like it hasn't been done before.

The Team Taranaki concept was adopted and introduced in 2003. The concept which was signed off by all twelve senior men's football clubs enabled Taranaki to have a senior representative football side playing its football outside of the province.

This concept is aimed to provide elite football opportunities to all players who want to achieve and play the best possible standard without having to leave the province.

Next minute...sign non-local players.
