The more you post in here, the more you are invalidating your criticism of the referee by showing your poor understanding of the laws of the game
Wait, so he *did* tug his shirt and if he hadn't he *would have* scored, but this isn't a red card?
Magnificent. Post of the year.
Incredible stamina. No shame. Yellow Fever.

I give you the actual football representative on the WelNix football committee...no wonder we signed Totori.

It's an obvious opportunity denied though, not an obvious goal.
Olympic had a bad day, that's for sure. I wasn't there so can't comment on the referee's performance but even if he was bad, did he change the game? Or was that down to those two players getting themselves sent off?
Incidentally I am not of the school that says you can't criticise a referee if they've been bad.
Incredible stamina. No shame. Yellow Fever.
That's a reason for the defender to not foul the player, not for the ref to ignore a clear decision
Been stalking ref that day as you speak of Ref like hughlighted is fact

because Olympic coaching staff stole the ball?

WTF?
Correct. If a player makes a decision to commit a red card offense, then it's the player who influences the outcome of the game, not the ref.
You've described, and others in this thread, two different situations. I too would have given red for the DOGSO, based on your description of events. The second based on JourneyFan's description sounds like a Red.
I think the laws are very poorly understood by the majority of fans, and by a large number of players. That's not the ref's problem.
My recollection is that there were (multiple?) assessors present at the olympic game. If the ref needed feedback from neutral parties on the appropriateness of his decisions, he would have received it. The likelyhood of that assessment being best delviered by a Olyumpic fan, on the yellow fever site, seems low.
Pretty sure the head of referees was there as well.
Maybe the referees you spoke to were just nodding and agreeing with you as they were scared of being called a homo!

probably not a good day to be allegedly deliberately crap, provocative, bias and racist then

I’m risking getting myself in a bit of trouble here but it really sharks me when people take pot shots at referees when they have zero clue about laws of the game. Opinions are fine and everyone has one but at least try to make an opinion be grounded in some kind of logic or the ability to see things from the other side or be open to persuasion that someone may know better than you and be open to conversation around it. There is never a retraction, there is never an apology. I never walk into someone else’s work place and tell them they are always wrong in what they do so it would be kinda nice if someone respected the process that usually referees will know more than spectators. They don’t always get it right but then looking at the Noah Hickey clip, players have clangers too from time to time.

specifically around 9'15" when the defender who was the last man has a massive handful of the strikers shirt and holds/pulls him as he goes past him looking to be on goal (and doesn’t get the shot), 38'50" when the coach was given a warning about what NOT to say and then 5 seconds later, says exactly that and at 26'08" when Barcia is late to the challenge and stomps the other players foot/ankle.
Can you point out to me where the ego is there cause I am missing it. I would appreciate your thoughts because I am open to learning here.
I very much enjoy Olympics own video showing how silly the arguments made here have been about the refereeing. One would have to suspect the video of the second half would include pretty clear audio of some of the choice phrases used by a "select few" from the hill too.
"He's operating a turnstile down the left flank"
Worth noting the excellent positioning of the ref in both the card incidents, in great positions and line of sight.
Takes a special kind of gormless to chat back straight after a warning to refs wearing comms gear.
Listen with sound on, who would want to be a referee.

Pretty hard to argue when the ref tells you that if you say a thing you'll be sent to the stands, you say it again and he sends you to the stands.
That's also clear DOGSO, there's no argument at all that it's not. Great work by Rowbs.

Speaking of the bigger picture. I reckon Capital Football and Central Football should make it a requirement of entry into Central League that teams video their matches. A bunch of teams already do it - notably Olympic and Western Suburbs - but I think it should be mandatory.
I also think referee performance should be reviewed on the basis of the tapes rather than assessors trying to do it in real time. Then there can't be any debate about what actually happened.
As Chris has said, the first sending off and the sending off of Stu Jacobs are almost impossible to argue with (and I like to argue about everything).
Incredible stamina. No shame. Yellow Fever.

Definitely this, but also I LOVE the fireworks after the goal. Brilliant. There is nothing quite like the cauldron of local football. Olympic's committee need to have a quiet word to a small group of fans about using derogatory language but I'd hate to see local football lose the pressure cooker that is Wakefield 2.

Agree, there needs to be a balance. Support your team, the fire works is great, what started this whole thing off with the homo comments from the group is what needs to be stamped out.

Done Lower Hutt and Stop Out matches this year and they are filming there games too but haven't seen any footage online of them. Oh and of course Napier is filming and putting their games up online as well.

Agree.
I reckon it might in part be a generational thing. Those sorts of slurs used to be common insults, but now no longer acceptable in polite society. Some folks are slow to adapt. A quiet word combined with the threat of losing 3 points next time would be a wonderful educational tool...

Curious about this one. If he is subsequently banned for "n" games, does that apply to all levels, i.e he normally appears in the technical area at U17, Cap Prem games for Olympic, does his ban consist of "n" central league games, but apply to all the interim games?
