So if I go to a central league game, tweet “the ref isn’t having a very good game” I can get fined half of my pay cheque for the week?

Sunday League football is looking more and more attractive (and cheaper) every year.

If you tweet that from the Naenae official account, then yes.

Central league player it appears so. If you aren't and/or aren't using club account then if you where tweeting something like that and someone complained to Cap Football, I believe you can get game bans for "bring the game into dispute"

Wait so does that refer to the club itself or any member of that club? So if I posted something on my personal FB page slagging off a ref and it somebody reported it CF, my club would be fined??

Wasn't there a case few seasons back like that where someone got in trouble for a post about a ref online. A player can't still be brought up on it but club maybe not fined

The Richmond Athletic club in Nelson got in a whole lot of trouble a couple of seasons ago for a facebook post and Mainland football used it as an opportunity to write social media guidelines. Can't remember the eventual punishment though

Will be interesting to see how that changes as the season rolls on.  Hope I get a chance to get out and watch some Central league this season.

not seen much

Stop Out have named a few - pretty much same as last season, except Luis Corrales is back (although they haven't announced that yet but he scored in the Hilton Petone cup the other week)

transfers seem to be slow coming through, probably thanks to My Comet only one of note I've seen recently is ex Phoenix academy player, Ruarhi Cahill-Flurey going from Island Bay to Miramar

Heard Olympic getting their three HB United players back this week (Palezvic and can't remember the other 2) and they are apparently picking up an American keeper from there as well

Ben Waine scored after about 10 minutes and it looked as if it would be a comfortable win for Wellington United, but then Miramar equalised and it started to look more even. Second half though was all Diamonds, especially Calvin Harris who scored 4, although it wasn't just him Willem Ebbinge had 5 assists and Paul Temple singled out Sam Sutton for extra praise

Was great to see so many old WDU \ Zealandia \ Hungaria \ Wellington City and Miramar faces at the game

Other results

Stop Out beat Havelock North 2-0 comfortably from what I was told

Wharfies received a baptism of fire in their return to the Central League for the first time since 1999. They lost 7-3 to Napier City Rovers who have a couple or seven imports this season

Wests made some simple mistakes that cost them and drew 2-2 with Lower Hutt

and Olympic beat Rapa 2-1, Olympic had a player sent off - quell surprise, it was for a second yellow, and the it was probably a bit harsh but I think the ref who had warned the player (sorry don't know who it was) several times before had just had enough

Surely all anyone is talking about is the low quality of the Nike match balls supplied?

Yes, that was the case. Wind , no surprises, marred the match. Stop Out were well in control.

Absolute rubbish ball. Do the people that choose these balls actually take them out and try them out?, or ask a few players what they think.. In windy Wellington they just fly away in the wind and bobble all over the place. Far too light. Hard to play decent football with crap balls.

from what Paul Temple was saying yesterday on twitter - they are definitely part of Wellington United and proud to be so, especially with the club celebrating their 125th anniversary this year (from when they were founded as Diamond in 1893)

Also the new strips only have one badge - Wellington United's

it's a partnership between the two organisations so whats the point of buying a completely new set of tracksuits?

Plenty of Team Wellington gear on the Miramar bench yesterday as well

here's a pic of the team with the Commemorative Cup which is a new trophy that will be played for between Wellington United and Miramar Rangers. United top, Phoenix trackpants whats the issue?

Just saying might as well clear things up and come out and say they are the NIX.. All they doing is using Wgtn United as a name to be in the CL. Bet Wgtn United isn't the one paying the coach.

They are playing for the club "Wellington United". They are registered to Wellington United, not the Nix. Everyone is aware of the partnership. Don't see Wellington United being keen for them to rebrand to the Nix in any way.

You're banging on abut a seasons old issue that I thought had been pretty well resolved...
