scores from todays Central League read more like tennis than football

Wellington United 1 Stop Out 3

Mar 2 Wharfies 1

Rapa 5 Napier 7

Olympic 6 Lower Hutt 3

Lower Hutt were 3-0 up and should have closed off the game, but Barcia being back for Olympic made a big difference to them

NCR 2 nil u over rapa before rapa scored 3. 4-3 to rapa at half time, however ref Rowbury sent off their no. 10 Belle for what he deemed a dangerous tackle. Rubbish call, was yellow at best. Rapa went 5-3 up early second half with a cracker from Hamish Watson. Then Rowbury gave NCR a penalty when rapa defender stood his ground in the box and NCR went to ground. Another rubbish call. Shame about the refereeing as the game was a great watch.

NCR ended with 9 men so must have been under the pump. One was a punch.
Good result for Wharf.

After watching WCv Mir a few upsets will go their way this season and will be safe for next season

If a "reckless foul" is a punch, I will believe you - it was a second yellow so I doubt your observation is correct..  My information comes from the teamsheet.  The second player sent was a second yellow, this one for dissent.

Don't piss off old people - the older we get, the less "Life in Prison" is a deterrent

Wests beat Lower Hutt 3-1 and Stop Out beat Havelock North 2-1, which really closes things up at top. The Junior Nix and Miramar drew though, so there's 6 points between 3rd and 4th.

Napier - 24 points

Stop Out - 22 points

Wests - 21 points

United - 15 points

I must have been looking at a HT score. According to the Cap Football site that is the top four in the table tohugh.

no was 2-1 to Mar at half time, you probably saw a score before that when it was 1-1

was a good game for the neutral to watch - unfortunately I wasn't neutral! 5-2 makes it look like a thrashing but it wasn't  - Utd coach Paul Temple summed it up in the after match - the United kids don't have older heads in the team so make some naive mistakes and that cost them

Saying that Miramar deserved their win - their first over Wellington United in the Central League since 2013

With NCR having lost 2 in a row in all competitions, how do people feel about the odds of Miramar getting some points away?

reasonably high, NCR without Bueno and Robertson. Miramar are playing well. Ex NCR player Kilkooly will score

sorry I assumed that they were suspended for 2 games, but then that depends on what they got sent off for and Capital football never update their website - last misconduct update is from May 31st

even if they are back though think Miramar will get the points, the core of the team are the Team Wellington players and they seem to have a very good vibe going on and are playing well

*although saying that I did pick the Hawke's Bay Derby to be the relegation battle this year!

Finshed 3 - 1 to NCR. (H/T 2-0) You're not having a good year, are you TJF.

Hope I am not putting the hex onto NCR but it was very much business as usual today.

This week it was Waterside Karori v Western Suburbs

next week is a Chatham Cup week (where Wharfies get to play Western Suburbs again)

Then you have

1-Jul Wests v Napier

8-Jul Napier v Stop Out

29-Jul Wests v Stop Out

and with Havelock North, Waterside, Rapa & Lower Hutt fighting relegation could be an exciting finish to the league

Anyone heading down to Endeavour Park over the next few weeks should note that the council have closed albatross close due to more subsidence, and residents will need to drive down the temporary road and through the West's carpark to gain access to their homes.

Traffic and parking will be sharke. I would park up on navigation and/or Sandwell Dr and walk.

Thought I'd reiterate this given the game tomorrow. The temporary road has taken out about half of the parking, so unless you're getting there super early you're better off not even trying to park at the ground itself.
