Just when I thought I could have a discussion with you.

It is not a conspiracy : the conspiracies are  'flat earth', 'man not landing on the Moon, '9/11 was an inside job etc..'...

This about the referees and Olympic  is very tangible, close to home and verifiable...

the idea that referees are biased against one club in particular is as crazy as flat earth, no moonwalk and Bush did 9/11, so yes, it's a conspiracy theory.

Wish I could spend more time replying to this...But, this is not about 'one club'....There is a lengthy discussion about it.

so it's not "about the referees and Olympic"?

Was, till 'Nelfoos' suggested the link between the Olympic and 9/11...But, I am sure we are going to be told off by the moderators for drifting away from the topic...

This is gold. Surely Olympic want to shut this guy down? I'd be pretty embarrassed if a member of my club was making these crazy accusations. But for the sake of my entertainment keep it coming TH!

You are welcome TopLeft...I also find Netflix to be average at best...

If you were not just a tad lazy, to read all the posts on this particular subject,  you would know by now that I am not a Greek or a member of their board. And if they knew who i was , maybe they would talk to me. Doubt it though. I am reasonably sure the huge majority of them feels the same way as me...

I did suspect you were just a spectator but you're clearly well invested and by that post you seem to think your views represent the majority of the club so what's the difference? By the way I f the majority of the club do think the same as you this is even better!

By the way I really do admire the passion Olympic and their supporters bring to football in Wellington, it is unrivalled, but like I've stated before passion seems to blind some people. The only way referees would have a bias against Olympic is if they were treated poorly by Olympic players but even then I think they'd be better than that.

Topleft, some of the stuff you said here is very kind, I appreciate it , really, and i thank you for that.

To clear the confusion, yes, I am an Olympic fan but not a Greek or a member of their board. What i say here is in no way the official position of the AFC Olympic. I apologise to the Olympic football club if their views are not same as mine. What I say here are my personal views. So, again - sorry about the confusion.

Yes, you are right...Not about the otoman empire , is it ?

And yes, I have myself moved away from the topic at times. Apologies.

Am really nervous about the Olympic vs Hutt today. It was 3:1 to Olympic when they played earlier this season, but it was not an easy win for Olympic. And on paper, LH will be a lot stronger today and Olympic a lot weaker compared with that 1st game. But, I hope the new boys will do their 100%....Frankly, I would be happy with a draw today.

Wests should be too strong for Taranaki, and Napier - SO should be a close game.

Wests are probably going to win the league and am happy for the young lads in the team...Not sure I feel the same about Declan winning the league....

Wish I could make it to Wakefield today, it's a fairly big game. Think Olympic should win it and steer themselves clear of any more relegation talk.

is it not time for TheHunn to front the Wgtn Referrees association with his evidence so the correct authority rules on said evidence not us football fans from competing clubs and long interclub rivalries.

There was speculation early in the week that Adam Cowan was going from Palmy to Lower Hutt today, which would have been a very handy signing for You Yellows (TM).

But from what I'm told You Yellows (TM) couldn't find enough folding stuff to entice Cowan over, so he's staying put (although didn't play yesterday so I presume is just playing home fixtures).

As The Hun has said, Olympic should be too strong for Lower Hutt but Olympic should also have been too strong for several other teams this season.

Can't wait to watch it.

Incredible stamina. No shame. Yellow Fever.

Olympic missing about 7. Nil all at the half.  It's not overly pretty.

They were missing over half a starting line up and had some players who backed up from reserves this morning but even then it wasn't pretty.

The funny thing is : today - they were, I actually agree. Even with the most of the starters missing, Olympic should be performing better.

I do not understand where you are coming from. Have not Wairarapa won all their home games this season?

I'm happy to admit that I really dislike Olympic but I'd be disappointed if they got relegated. They do bring something different and special to the league.

I think there is way to much angst. Palmy marist has relegation locked and loaded.

Permalink Permalink

Marist play Stop Out (h) Olympic (h) Wests (a) Wairarapa (h) & Wgtn Utd (a) in their last five. Olympic play Team Naki (a) Marist (a) Stop Out (h) Miramar (a) & Napier (h).

I reckon Marist have the better of that, but they're a worse team in the absence of Cowan and Cooksley.

Other that the relegation '6 pointer' - Marist have to play 3, 1, 2 and 5th.

Olympic have 7, 3, 6 and 4. Surely that must favour Olympic, not marist - all things being moderately equal?

It's the travel factor that does it for me. I reckon Olympic will struggle away at Team Naki, even though they're only seventh. Then they have to travel again to Palmy. Miramar will be dead keen to put a nail in their coffin too.

Still, it's all going to hinge on The Six Pointer (TM).

Fair call. i'm struggling to see where Marist has a chance of collecting points with that run in

(Other than the six pointer)

Folks.

It's not often I have to actually login and post but here I am.  A few people have been warned, a few people have got a punch in the face.  Normally a little gentle ribbing is allowed in here but it has got carried away on both sides.

Please remember that it's not the wild west that the Mainland and Southern threads are and if it escalates again there will be bans issued and we're not adverse to naming and shaming if we do.

Pull your collective heads in or I'll send News in.

as a complete outsider to this thread I have found the last two weeks or so highly informative and interesting - so while there probably has been some garbage there has also been some gems and from a non wellington football fan I have picked up a few things of note.

Kudos to those who have contributed positively to this thread.

I don't want to harp on about Olympic, but i am wondering if Stu will manage to keep his job if Olympic did finish 9th, and how does that all fit in with the Kaizen / Olympic partnership?

I had a chat to some Olympic folks about this very point and they thought he was likely to keep his job. Lots of bad luck with the squad this year and players still on board with him was how I was told it.

Who else would they get anyway? I guess Shane Rufer might be available...
