O well couldn't keep the streak going on forever.

Spewing the defeat had to come by the hands of Miramar. Just cannot seem to beat them.

My views of the game:

Defensive blunders handed Miramar the 1 goal cushion at 2-1.

Van Hatt's brain explosion pegged us back 3-1.

More average defending and good capitalization by Miramar gave them the 5-1 lead at the break.

Second half, one screamer from Churchy and Sloppy tap in by Ish brought us within 3. But there just wasn't enough time on the clock.

Never thought Miramar outplayed us, just that when chances arose, Miramar finished with little mercy. The 6-3 scoreline flatters Miramar, as i do believe we were the better footballing side on the day.

But hey...you cant win them all!

I thought Olympic played some good football in patches. In fact for the first 15 or so they were all over the Mar and Phil had to make a couple of very sharp saves. Greeks had a very poor day at the back though and that cost them in the end.

Incredible stamina. No shame. Yellow Fever.

If the Greeks had put away a couple of their early chances, it could have been a totally different game. But they didn't and just kept switching off at the back. Miramar kept punishing them for it and they eventually just crumbled. Would have thought a team that had gone 30 odd games unbeaten (and won the chatham cup in the process) would have had more bottle. Odd. Maybe you need more than pink boots, ouzo and cigarettes to win a championship after all?

Our defense let us down. Our attack was sublime, and if it wasn't for Imray in goals, like badtouch says, it would have been a very different day.

Things just didn't fall our way and, I'm prepared to accept that.

But in the end I just didn't think we deserved to lose by that margin. We kept in the game the whole way, even enjoying more possession than the mar.

Baaaaa humbug. Rant over.

It's great if your reserve team is in a good standard league.

It's even better if your reserve team plays in a reserve league and you play with zero pressure and still enjoy all the perks of being part of the 1st team squad

Yeah exactly this. Our reserve team plays in a competitive league with other first teams. So much more enjoyable though.

Much better effort by Petone today after an indifferent first half.  Actually started to play footy in the second half. Great skills by Jono Blair for his second goal.  Thought the ref was inconsistent and made same poor calls. Nonsense red card at the end of the game summed up his game really.

Good win to Petone but you are not wrong about the ref, the penalty call was terrible, it should have been a free kick to Taranaki and a red card for the Petone player (he had already been booked) who kicked him. Some of his other calls were questionable (for both sides) to.

Some good goals from Petone though.

You're right, penalty was also a pretty dire call. Everyone looked shocked.

Claim for a red is a bit much but think we can all agree that the ref wasn't up to scratch.

Incredible stamina. No shame. Yellow Fever.
